Go For A RIde!!

When we had a dog the magic words were “GO FOR A RIDE.”  It was a few minutes of sheer excitement when those words were spoken.  Well today after four days of being stuck in the house I WENT FOR A RIDE!!

I drove to Lapeer (roughly 25 miles away) to the pet store for bird seed, Walmart, Meijer’s, and back to the hometown grocery store.  Yes friends there is now a grocery store in our little town.  It opened today!!  Am I happy?  Bet your life. Grocery stores are 17 miles one way, 20 another, and 10 another so having one 3 miles away again is like improving my quality of life 80%.

The other highlight of my day came when the Doctor’s office called this morning to report no noticeable change in the COPD on the scan.  So I guess that’s good!

About Momma

I was 77-years-old on February 22 and I'm amazed to see it. Mother of two sons and one daughter (Bloggers SEB and Cindyisms are two of them). Grandmother of three. Retired after 29 years+ at Michigan Bell Telephone and ten+ years with The Oakland Press. I was active with the telephone company union and a Dale Carnegie graduate. I work at crocheting, knitting, making ornaments, and other projects. With my husband I can 300 or 400 half pints of jam, chutney, plus cabbage relish, pickled beets and cinnamon fruit every summer to give away. I was clown doing parades, parties, and picnics for about 15 years. My other passions are music from the 50s through the 70s, reading, and of course blogging!

  1. Hurrah for a ride… some days I make up errands or volunteer to be helpful just to get out of the house and “take a ride” somewhere.

Hurrah for the new local grocery store!  Yes, having one close by is a big comfort and convenience!

Hurrah for the “no visible change” on the scan!  That is definitely a bit of good news, too!
