December Bits And——

Three more finished and two to go!  Chenille and Bernat Solo Noveau both yarns that I have never worked with before but I am moving right along.  I may have enough leftover chinelle to do a multicolored scarf or pillow cover for my Christmas gift.  It has not been difficult but at times I just want to walk away from it.

The results of Jay’s visit to the eye doctor’s office on the 30th was good news.  The blood in his eye is disappearing slowly so in two weeks he goes back for laser work.  Hopefully he will see a little by Christmas.  Our fingers are crossed!!  The visit to his personal physican today was a little distrubing.  He wants Jay’s to have the heart cath. even though his kidney’s may take a beating from the medication.  So we call the heart doctor tomorrow to see about setting it up.

I am through procrastinating—The holiday decorations have to be put up inside and out.  It funny but I keep staring at the eves of the dome and the bushes up around the it but the elves have not appeared to hang the wreaths and lights yet.  Guess it is up to me again this year!  It is no big deal because I have a telescoping pole with hook on the end to reach the high spots on the extentions.  I just need to pull the boxes from the basement and check the bulbs before braving the outside.  It is important to get started on this because I need the glow to bring my spirits out of my boots!

Inside, the computer being moved from the utility room desk to Momma’s corner has presented a problem clearing the space in front of the bay window for the tree.  But the rocker is in the bedroom and the lazy boy will get moved closer to the sofa.  The table and lamp will end up upstairs in one of those rooms temporarily.  So it is pretty well planned out and moving this old lazy body is priority.  I have a little shopping to do yet but the knitting has help in cutting down on roaming the stores.  Hope you are getting your decorating and shopping under control so you can stay a little laid back the next couple of weeks.

About Momma

I was 77-years-old on February 22 and I'm amazed to see it. Mother of two sons and one daughter (Bloggers SEB and Cindyisms are two of them). Grandmother of three. Retired after 29 years+ at Michigan Bell Telephone and ten+ years with The Oakland Press. I was active with the telephone company union and a Dale Carnegie graduate. I work at crocheting, knitting, making ornaments, and other projects. With my husband I can 300 or 400 half pints of jam, chutney, plus cabbage relish, pickled beets and cinnamon fruit every summer to give away. I was clown doing parades, parties, and picnics for about 15 years. My other passions are music from the 50s through the 70s, reading, and of course blogging!

  1. I haven’t even put away the few Halloween Decorations I put up.  I’m trying to get in the spirit.  Maybe I’ll take a stab doing it today.  You know if you could use a fat freckled elf to help you, all you need to do is pick up the phone.  You know decorating is more fun when it’s done with people you love AND get along with!
