Jay and I went to visit our boss from when we worked at Michigan Bell Telephone Co. She lives in Detroit so it was about a 200 mile round trip but worth every minute!
Mrs. Ford had been hospital for pneumonia but she was finally on the mend. We sat for a few hours remembering the people we used to work with and trying to identify some of the people in the pictures I had brought with me.
I didn’t realize how much I missed talking with her until we were visiting.
So here is to you Bernice you did alot to develop me those many years ago. Know you are thought of warmly.
I also met Bernice’s friend Mabel who so graciously came over to help her entertain us.
Thank you Mabel it was a pleasure meeting you. ( She bakes great rolls too).
“We cannot tell the precise moment when friendship is formed. As in filling a vessel drop by drop, there is at last a drop that makes it run over; so in a series of kindnesses, there is a last one that makes the heart run over.” Samuel Johnson
