At the time, I was living in Plymouth and teaching in Livonia.  Since it was summer, I was taking classes in Detroit.  I remember listening to the news and if there were no snipers shooting at the freeway, my fellow teachers (4) and I would head for the University in a very packed car.  Don’t know why we were so foolish! </p> Happy Birthday to your son and congratulations to you.  I can remember the Detroit riots.
