More Signs!

Days are getting shorter.
The fire bush is getting redder.
Afternoons are crisper,
Nights are colder!

The snowball bush in the front yard is turning brown.
But one small spot still thinks it is summer.
White blossoms hanging on.
Reminding me that after the snow comes the flowers.

Now the spooky eyes of Halloween
are gathering around my wishing well.
More signs of October
Grasping at my life!

About Momma

I was 77-years-old on February 22 and I'm amazed to see it. Mother of two sons and one daughter (Bloggers SEB and Cindyisms are two of them). Grandmother of three. Retired after 29 years+ at Michigan Bell Telephone and ten+ years with The Oakland Press. I was active with the telephone company union and a Dale Carnegie graduate. I work at crocheting, knitting, making ornaments, and other projects. With my husband I can 300 or 400 half pints of jam, chutney, plus cabbage relish, pickled beets and cinnamon fruit every summer to give away. I was clown doing parades, parties, and picnics for about 15 years. My other passions are music from the 50s through the 70s, reading, and of course blogging!

  1. Does your wishing well really make wishes come true?

Now the song “Three Coins in the Fountain” is banging around in my head.
    Thank you oh so much……

  2. Sorry about the Three Coinsthing but my melody was worse—Ding Dong Bell Pussy In The Well!  So I suffered more than you!

As to does the Wishing Well work—-In the almost Six years I have lived here I have found much peace of mind, much inner strengh, and a lot of new friends to communicate with.  I think it is working pretty well!
