There is something about me that makes husbands buy me the darndest things. Many years ago when I was pregnant with Wes my first husband bought me a snow shovel for Christmas. It obviously worked seeing Wes’ Birthday is 12-31. What brought this to mind you ask, Well today my Mother’s Day gift arrived via Fedex.
Yes my friend it is a brand new Alligator. This is to aid me in cutting up branches and limbs. How? Because it weighs only nine pounds. That is much lighter than our small chain saw. Besides I’m hoping that the boys might want to try it out and I won’t even have to pick it up.

Reminds me of when I got a paper shredder machine for a wedding anniversary—was it our 16th?
My sister thought that was the craziest idea (she’s divorced—no surprise there), but I told her that the price was high enough that our budget had put it into the ‘gift’ category.
I bet chopping branches is a very strenuous but fully satisfying task from now on….
