Thank you John

A couple of years after we moved in out here I noticed a rock hidden in the weeds out near the pond at the side and back of the property.  I’d walk out every once in a while and try to figure out how to bring it up to the top of the driveway.  I knew the garden tractor couldn’t move it.  Also I had no way to drag it up with the pickup, nor the money to have it moved.  I grew resigned to the fact that my rock would spend the rest of my life buried in weeds behind the bushes out back.

I had asked my neighbor’s hubby John how much he would charge me to bring the rock up front.  He never really gave me an answer so I figured he didn’t want to waste his time and equipment to move it for me.  Then today he asked to see the rock and said he would move it soon.

Later today I heard the equipment   lumbering up the back driveway and sure enough in the claw was my rock .  He placed it at the head of the driveway for me and another wish was accomplished.  Thank you John.

  1. It is a beautiful rock and what a nice neighbor.  It looks like Spring has sprung in Michigan.  I hope it is long and that summer does not come too quickly.

    Now get out on that deck and do a little relaxing. Promise!

  2. Kewl Rock! Just the kind that begs a quick sit-down say midway between that jog down to the mailbox and the trip back up the hill to the house. Enjoy!
    Hugs;
    Pammie

  3. That was a neighborly thing to do.  I wish more people were like that.
    I luckily have great neighbors!  And i know they would do anything within reason for me as I would do for them.

    A big rock like that needs to be seen.

  4. Yep the leaves on the bushes and trees are reaching little fingers out to grab the sunshine Maria.

    Pammie a spot to rest coming back from the mailbox what a great idea.  But jogging not on a bet!!!!

    Neighborly, yes everyone seems to be, but not being a ‘let’s have morning coffee or do lunch’ type I really don’t know many of them Caroline.  But I do agree the rock needs to be seen.

    Diane I’m not much good with a mallet and chisel so for now I’ll let Mother Nature clean it up.

    Yes Rhea it is sad that the world we live in has turned us into cautious and reserved people but events happening every day are the governing factor.

  5. Maybe you could sew a little clown suit and dress it up?  The lady 3 doors down from us has a concrete goose with all sorts of nice outfits tongue wink
