33 Long Years!

Yes it is true—-33 years ago today.  Grammie Pammie made the announcements for us.

I have more pictures once I learn how to crop from a scanner.

In the chair in the blue and white dress was my grandmother, Mable Waggoner-Miller.
Standing left to right. Pammie of Grammie Pammie, Dan’s wife Peggy, Me, with Cindy of Cindyisms at my knees. Jay is next, then Lesley of Stupid Evil Bastard, my brother Dan, and my eldest son Wesley.  Tony Dobry, Peggy’s father,  bless his heart performed the ceremony

For now I’ll just say Happy Anniversary Husband of mine and hopefully we will see a few more!

About Momma

I was 77-years-old on February 22 and I'm amazed to see it. Mother of two sons and one daughter (Bloggers SEB and Cindyisms are two of them). Grandmother of three. Retired after 29 years+ at Michigan Bell Telephone and ten+ years with The Oakland Press. I was active with the telephone company union and a Dale Carnegie graduate. I work at crocheting, knitting, making ornaments, and other projects. With my husband I can 300 or 400 half pints of jam, chutney, plus cabbage relish, pickled beets and cinnamon fruit every summer to give away. I was clown doing parades, parties, and picnics for about 15 years. My other passions are music from the 50s through the 70s, reading, and of course blogging!

  1. Wishing everything wonderful to a wonderful couple…

    Congratulations! and many good years ahead….

    ~~love and Huggs, Diane

  2. I love the family/wedding picture.
    How nice for your children to be involved.

    When they were mid-teenagers, our youngest son has a friend whose mother was getting re-married (her third).
    She told the kid to stay away for three days before and a week after the wedding—even took his key to their apartment.
    He slept on a cot back in the corner of our study.  We hung a curtain for his privacy.

    Sometimes, love happens easily, and sometimes it needs some effort to help it along.

    Congratulations again, about surrounding yourselfs with love.

  3. Boy, are those photos familiar! One thing “Momma” didn’t mention: SHE made the dresses! All three of them-she’s quite the seamstress…she did a FINE job!)It was a beautiful day and we have memories of jet planes flying overhead, little girls who thought the ceremony was a bit too long, and a wonderful union of two really GREAT people. A VERY HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to both of you;
    I love you lots;
    Pammie

  4. I just looked again at the date on your invitation.
    I was at another outdoor wedding on that very day!

    We graduated high school the last Saturday in May, then my friend Cathy got married in July, to a guy who was 5 years older than us.
    We thought she was crazy, getting married right outta school like that.
    According to our last class newsletter, she is still married to the same fella.

    Mary and Jay got married the year I graduated high school.
    I’m feeling a bit older now…..

  5. I am upset I didn’t see this post last week!

    Anyway, what a handsome couple you were, and still are. Those pictures look as if they could have been taken yesterday.

    You know how I feel about memories, Mary, I bet those photos are worth their weight in gold with memories.

    Happy anniversary!

  6. I know I am late, too in sending my Congratulations on this Anniversary of such a beautiful day.  I know the two of you are truly blessed to have each other for all these years.  Looking forward to congratulating you again next year and the next…
