Generator—heh heh.
Reminds me of an evening a few years ago, terrible awful thunderstorm on the prairie.
Trees down, power out.
A couple streets over, there was a box about 6feet across in an alley.  Nobody ever bothered it, no markings on the sides.
After that storm, the neighbors learned the box held a generator, a very noisy machine, and smelled awful.

The guy who lived nearest the box put up with it for awhile, then went out and pried open the door, and turned it off.  He had some mechanical skills.

Next day, there’s a report in the newspaper about how the cable went out in a major section of town—just as the Season Finale of ER was coming to its end.
It seems that generator was a booster for the cable company, and when it got turned off, broadcast operations also ceased.
Even though many citizens had power, their televisions were useless.

The neighbor guy got legal problems cited for breaking and entering, and tampering with private property.
His explanation was the box should have been clearly marked.  He did not realize the generator was so important.
He got hate mail for weeks afterward, from folks who had missed the ending of the tv show.
