Food, Family, And Friends

On June 30th Food, Family, and Friends at Wes’ house was the title of the day.  A trip down for the fireworks in Lake Orion was the reason.

The food was plentiful and set up all around the dining room.  Jay and I made 60 mini cream cheese cakes topped with homemade Blueberry jam or freshly canned Danish Tart Cherry sauce for the gathering,  Everyone brought a dish and the results were amazing.

The visitors kept changing with some as old as us down to grand babies of other folks.  With two teenager living here there was an array of fashions parading in and out through the house also.

I finally just gave up putting the camera on top the fridge and watching everyone enjoy themselves.

A stupid old lady thing happened two days before the gathering.  I had been working in the yard and was bit by something on the back of my left knee.  It itched and of course I scratched it.  On Friday I was in the Doctor’s office with an area the size of my hand that was red, burning, and itching reaching half way down my leg.  Leaving with prescriptions for an anti biotic and an ointment in hand I started the regiment to get me well again.  Just got to stay away from ‘dem’ bugs!

The scope is tomorrow and I’m so looking forward to when it is done.  Daughter Cindy will be with me at the hospital.  I know she has stocked up on garbage can and rubber hose jokes to keep me laughing when it is over.  This woman knows no shame when she is trying to make you feel better!

About Momma

I was 77-years-old on February 22 and I'm amazed to see it. Mother of two sons and one daughter (Bloggers SEB and Cindyisms are two of them). Grandmother of three. Retired after 29 years+ at Michigan Bell Telephone and ten+ years with The Oakland Press. I was active with the telephone company union and a Dale Carnegie graduate. I work at crocheting, knitting, making ornaments, and other projects. With my husband I can 300 or 400 half pints of jam, chutney, plus cabbage relish, pickled beets and cinnamon fruit every summer to give away. I was clown doing parades, parties, and picnics for about 15 years. My other passions are music from the 50s through the 70s, reading, and of course blogging!
