Like The Big Bad Wolf!

Start with a chocolate on chocolate cake, with chocolate mousse, with sparkle candles and beautiful chocolate roses.

Add a beautiful ( yes I’m prejudice because I’m the grandma) young lady who will be 17 tomorrow.

As you sing Happy Birthday she will blow….

and blow….

And blow….

Take a breath and blow some more…

And blow until they are all out.  My grand kid ain’t no quitter!!!

Happy Birthday Courtney—-Love you much!

…in a dog obedience class at Pet Smart!  That my friends was the sound you heard if you had walked across my kitchen floor last night.  I left it that way until 8:30 this morning when I pulled out the mop,  the bucket, and the SPIC & SPAN.

Yes poor old Harry Potter took a backseat to a bushel of Michigan peaches.
The results were canned peaches, jam, pie filling, and in the fancy jar Peach Melba jam.  ( That is peaches and red raspberries, certainly one of my favorites.)
Some of the peaches were not quite ripe which is why there was more jam made then the other items.

Jay will be posting on Jay’s Jammin’  the results of this all freakin’ day marathon.  Needless to say I fell into bed about 1:30 am peach spatters and all.  The sheets will wash , I can take a shower and just think of sleeping next to a jar of peach jam.  Kinda makes you want to get up and toast some bread doesn’t?

We’re Weedin’

Despite the lack of rain a trip to clean and refill the bird bath this morning revealed this.

Transplanted from Daughter-in-law Deb’s in Orion they have decided their new home on the berm out front isn’t a bad place to be.

While out side I started pulling weeds.  Morning is the best time for me—before it gets too warm.  I started at the berm then moved to the east side of the house.
With camera still in hand I decided the Rose Of Sharon that partially covers our bedroom window deserved a nod also,

I do love it there because some mornings as I wake there is a bird singing in that bush,

A swing with Brandy revealed that we do indeed have at least three Hummingbirds around our feeder.  I watch them frolic in the branches yesterday but only caught one feeding.

But the number of Gold finches are too hard to determine so I sit quietly and try to catch one at the feeder.

Those little things hear the camera zoom and off the go !!  Someday if I live long enough I will have a camera with a lens that can get better picture from farther away.  But that isn’t a priority right now.

30 squares went out yesterday in the mail and I will pick up Harry Potter today after I take Molly to the Vet.
We have a weekend of birthday party so I’ll close for now so keep loving, laughing and living!

Waiting For Momma!

This morning after finishing square # five Brandy decided that we needed to swing so out we went, yellow yarn, needles and dog to the swing in the side yard.  Deciding I needed the tape measure I told Brandy to stay and walked back in the house.  When I turned back there she sat so I got the camera also.  I joined her on the swing and started working on square # four slowly gliding back and forth.

She finally decided we should go in so I thought I would visit with you a moment then get back to the final four squares.  The only problem is they all have to be knitted so it will be an all day job but hopefully they will go out in the mail tomorrow.

We are still working on the blood pressure measuring problem.  We have checked with Dr. Webb’s office and Wright & Filippis. We will check with Dialysis Center, then our personal physician, and the pharmacist for a solution.  Some one somewhere has to have had the same problem.

Have a good week and we will get together again.

I What!

OK lets start with the picture.
I have been working on squares for Grammie Pammie with a goal of 10 different colors, 1 knit & 2 crochet each, with a total of 30 squares. I have worked on them in doctors offices, waiting in the hospital during Jay’s surgery, in the truck while Jay got his haircut, and on the coach in the afternoon and evening in front of the TV.  I have completed 20 so I have a ways to go.  But I will keep plugging away because I want a time out to finish Deaver’s book and read Harry Potter’s last adventure.

In the time past since our last visit I saw one doctor about my feet and was told I was beyond his capabilities.  He referred me to an Orthopedic Surgeon and I have an appointment with him on September 4th.  This docter in excellent in reconstruction and the first doctor said that is what I need.  Fingers are crossed that he can help me!!

On the 2nd Jay had Surgery on his right arm to put a fistula in it because the last operation is working but the body choose an alternate vein to the one set up for dialysis and Dr. Webb wants the new location to be ready in a couple of months to take over if this one fails.  However this created a problem for trying to take blood pressure readings with both arms out of action for a cuff.  Yesterday I bought a new machine for reading on the leg but all we are getting is errors.  So it means more investigation to solve the problem because we must have daily readings.

We also got a final OK and prescription for Jay’s new glasses from Dr. Rohr.  So last Tuesday he had them made and is wearing them now.

A phone call from Florida about my brother Dan’s progress just came in.  It seems they are having trouble with blood pressure and he is in and out of the hospital trying to nail down the problem.  He goes back in Monday or Tuesday for more tests.

On a lighter note I tried knocking down a hornet’s nest inside our wishing well and got stung for my efforts.  I finally sprayed it and another one on the side of the dome.  I swear if I ever can afford to have this place resided it will not be done in layered material.  It has got to fit together to keep the bees and hornets on the outside of the wall.

Well we got Brandy to the haircut people last week and Jay to his barber today so now they are both all beautiful.

With the heat the last few days my flowers are or have died and my electric company is going to send me a thank you card for running the air conditioners so much.  I have managed to keep fresh water in the bird bath. I added water to the fountains but I sometimes forget to turn them on so I found little tadpoles swimming in them.  I have kept the Hummingbird feeder fresh, the finches fed, and suet cakes for my woodpeckers but I’m not filling the regular seed feeder right now because there is a lot to eat for them out there.

Well with 9 and half more squares to go I think I’ll leave you for today.  Remember to love, relax, and laugh out loud frequently!!
