One Pair Done…..

and one to go!  What are they ?  Warm, black, sexy, for Granddaughters, and almost finished.  I thought that this was a no brainer—just knit and sew.  But the foot with a dragon chewing on it every so often interrupts my train of thought and I can’t seem to hold on to what I was doing.  Cindy was to come up today but she worked a double and opted for her bed instead.  I whole heartedly agreed with that decision because with taking the pain pills I have been slipping into Siesta land all day.

The weather is snow on the ground, then rain falling, everything melting, and more rain until the snow starts again.  Happy to be inside but dreading Tuesday which is my post-op appointment.  Not happy with bare toes hanging out of the cast with possible snow on the ground .  But hey shit happens this time of year.

I think I will pull out my Christmas projects for a change of pace tomorrow.  Basically everything is going quite well.  We don’t a shovel and lawn rake to clean up the floors yet.  We are eating very well and the kitchen is tidy.  I think I’ll attempt bird cage cleaning tomorrow.  It will take a bit of engineering but it can be done.

Jay brought the Sunday paper up then left it in the truck so he is on the way out to get it for me.  We had a late lunch so I’m not sure what supper time will hold or even when we will have it.  I feel another nap creeping up on me but I want to at least start the newspapers this evening.

About Momma

I was 77-years-old on February 22 and I'm amazed to see it. Mother of two sons and one daughter (Bloggers SEB and Cindyisms are two of them). Grandmother of three. Retired after 29 years+ at Michigan Bell Telephone and ten+ years with The Oakland Press. I was active with the telephone company union and a Dale Carnegie graduate. I work at crocheting, knitting, making ornaments, and other projects. With my husband I can 300 or 400 half pints of jam, chutney, plus cabbage relish, pickled beets and cinnamon fruit every summer to give away. I was clown doing parades, parties, and picnics for about 15 years. My other passions are music from the 50s through the 70s, reading, and of course blogging!

  1. You need to knit a nice big mitten to cover your toes and bandages.  The thought of the type of ice we had yesterday on bare skin causes me to shudder.

Last day I worked, there was a girl wearing a knitted shrug in the a real pretty shades of purple.
She said her grandma made it.
I thought of my own grandma first, and then you.  Nice work, but I know the kids love ‘em.
