The Little Things!

Sometimes a little thing can be so pleasing that you are at a loss as to how to show your appreciation.  The mail lady brought this delightful little package yesterday and upon opening it this is what I saw.  Enclosed with it was a little note explaining that these items were bought at a Humane Society craft table in the entrance of a store in Diane’s home town.  The money was to go to benefit the critters as she put it.

The fact that the cloth had a heart knitted into it and both items were pink reminded her of Valentines Day.  Her message said she bought the whole basket full.  I was one of the lucky ones to receive items from her purchase.  I sat here yesterday trying to figure out how to display my treasure because they are too pretty to use and for the life of me I’m still still thinking.

Thank you Diane for thinking of me when you decided to share your wonderful find.  Your heart seems to shine when you find such treasures and I and the other friends around you reap the rewards.  Sometimes it is the little things in life that alert us to the friendship of others.

With my husband I can 300 or 400 half pints of jam, chutney, plus cabbage relish, pickled beets and cinnamon fruit every summer to give away. I was clown doing parades, parties, and picnics for about 15 years. My other passions are music from the 50s through the 70s, reading, and of course blogging!

  1. Pretty gift you have received.

We did rock and roll, mostly jigging dancing you know what I mean, the night away last Saturday and another successful evening was achieved and a goodly sum of money made for a local Hospice for the terminal ill nr here, where our Singer Bryan goes for respite every so often.  He sang the evening away and we danced to much rock and roll plus Chuck Berry’s Sweet Little Sixteen which I love – kidding ourselves of course!  Great memories of the 60s!  A 13 yr old lad gave us a great electric guitar performance jamming with two guitarists from Bryan’s backing Group, we saw him too last year so were delighted to hear him again and see he has grown some.  Best wishes Marion
