Gone But Not Missed!

I’m back and you didn’t even miss me did you.  Loss of electricity yesterday morning pretty well shut my mouth for a little while.  But it came back on this afternoon.  It seems a big tree didn’t like the wires running under it so it fell and took them with it.  We have a generator so we weren’t totally in the dark(another little joke).  But we turned it off at night when we went to bed.  I did manage to get Brandy to the Vet’s office for her booster but we both looked pretty shoddy with no bath and all.

This morning I ran the dishwasher and then the clothes washer.  I couldn’t use the dryer because the generator can’t handle it.  So I did something I haven’t done in a long time.

Yep that is clothes hanging there on that clothesline with real clothespins!!!  They all got dry and are folded ready to be put away now.

During the last two days the two Peony plants have burst into bloom.

Some day I hope to get a couple of different colored ones to add to the mix.

Back during Mother’s day Cindy had brought me a Hyacinth pot with three separate plants in it.  Also her half dead Snap dragons to plant.  Well They like it here I guess because here are two of them and it looks like I may have some more coming on.

I’ll keep a close eye on the remaining plants to see if we caught them in time too.

Well I have some blog visiting to do and Email to catch up on so I’ll leave you for now.

About Momma

I was 77-years-old on February 22 and I'm amazed to see it. Mother of two sons and one daughter (Bloggers SEB and Cindyisms are two of them). Grandmother of three. Retired after 29 years+ at Michigan Bell Telephone and ten+ years with The Oakland Press. I was active with the telephone company union and a Dale Carnegie graduate. I work at crocheting, knitting, making ornaments, and other projects. With my husband I can 300 or 400 half pints of jam, chutney, plus cabbage relish, pickled beets and cinnamon fruit every summer to give away. I was clown doing parades, parties, and picnics for about 15 years. My other passions are music from the 50s through the 70s, reading, and of course blogging!

  1. I am afraid if Bob sees that photo of clothes on the line, he will do something to the electric circuit to the house.  He loves clothes that are dryed outside in a good, clean breeze.  It was one of the first things, I told him he would need to forget, if we married.  I love my clothes dryer and would never go to all the trouble to hang clothes on a line.  I compromised however, by using a softener that advertises as smelling like a spring breeze.  LOL

  2. Tell him that clothes dried outside up here look like cardboard cutouts so the dryer is still the preferred method!
