Done Again!

What else are furries do to in the afternoon when they live with two old people.

Well number three was completed tonight which means I am half way done.

Of the two test Jay has to take the first shows everything is ok.  We go to the hospital for the second one tomorrow.  So I’ll close early!

Another One Bites The Dust!

This is number two of six afghans to be edged done.  I finished it last night but today I devoted time to bathing a stinky puupy dog and working a while on the the lap robe.  I will start number three this evening but I have a dentist appointment tomorrow so I don’t know when I’ll   get at it again.  The foot is still giving me problems but it will get better I’m sure.

Stay warm and keep smiling!

Distractions!

I’ve been a little under the weather the last couple of days.  I didn’t remember the weakness and pain that comes from being in a cast for so long.  But it hit full force and I found even walking short distances pretty painful.  But I’m doing better each day and this morning at 6 am I was up and going through the morning routine.  I have visited the e-mail, the blogs, and am now posting.

The plus side of this discomfort is that I finished edging the first of six afghans that I brought home from Pammie’s house on Thursday and I did it all last night in front of the TV.  I am slowly getting things back where they belong and may be able to say it is back to normal soon.  I still have to route Molly from the chair for a while today and start working on the lap robe again.

During the time I was in the cast I snagged my ring on it and broke a prong.  I finally took it in to be fixed last week.  I didn’t realize how much having it gone was an irritation to me.  To look down and see just a wide band was a distraction that upset me.

But I picked it up yesterday and all is right with my little corner of marital bliss again.  Foolish isn’t it!!!

Well it is a little over three hours since I staggered out of bed.  Jay and Brandy are still sleeping and Molly is snoozing back in the chair after a trip into the chilly morning earlier.  My coffee is cold, my bladder is speaking in low, urgent tones. and my back is saying that a sweater would be nice over these shivering shoulders right now.  So I’m leaving you for a while!

Freedom & Surprise!

Yesterday was the day that the last cast came off.  I picked up Cindy and drove down to Dr. Fortin’s office for the ‘unveiling’  I took a picture of Dr. and accidentally got the x ray of my foot in it.  As you can see it was quite a production.  But now it is coca butter for the skin, an air boot for when I leave the house because the foot is swollen and a shoe is impossible right now, and a luxurious time spent in the shower.  Boy I missed that!

As for the surprise!  As you know I have been working on an afghan with an unusual combination of colors.

I had it out on the table but the orange section on one end didn’t show up.
I have been showing bits of the ‘happy cover’ but not the whole thing until now.  During that time my dear friend, Pammie, asked if I were going to keep it and I said no.  “Are you going to give it to Jay?” I replied again no.  “Oh then you are giving it to someone else.”  I replied yes.  She said something to the effect of I sure hope they like colors!

I think she does by the look on her face when she recieved it yesterday.

Time!

The election is over but the big job is now in front of us all.  The new President has a large mess to straighten out starting in January.  It is our job to help in our own ways be they large or small.  It is also our job to be understanding and patient with progress of getting our Nation back on track.

Plans Oft Times!

Some weeks back son-in-law David helped me re pot a plant and then move three of them inside. In the bay window seemed to be the best spot for them.  Yesterday I remembered that I had to re pot one of them into a bigger container.  So I filed that away in the back of my head because I had asked Jay about building me a simple stand so I could place those plants in front of the French doors.  I remembered today that the Christmas tree always goes in the spot before the bay windows so the plants were going to have to be moved.  After much discussion we settled on placing half a door over the two file cabinets   and then covering it with a sheet.  This will hold us until after Christmas and then I’ll try for a more civilized and permanent answer.  So Jay and I moved the components of the makeshift shelf into place, I exchanged pots for a better fit for both plants, and then the plants were put in place.  Thus the title!!!!

I went to the basement today and pulled out the Thanksgiving decorations and hung the flag.  Most of the decorations will have to wait a few days because my marathon afghan project took a lot of energy and I fell behind in cleaning, the newspapers, and animal care.  So today was start to catch up.

But I must show you my comforting thought while I was working on the afghan.

As I combined this very pretty blue with the Claret I felt a very calming sensation come over me and I knew that the project would be done in plenty of time.  The urge to create something in those two colors is very strong but I have other things to do before I can get into that.

I have a DDS appointment on election day but I have already voted on an absentee ballot so there is no conflict.  Hope you will get out and exercise your right to speak also!
