I Want Warmth And Rest!

Did you ever have one of those days when no matter how hard you searched you just couldn’t find what you were looking for.

Well Brandy did yesterday.  It was hilarious to watch that little head buried deep in her dog bed/toy box and using one paw to either pull out or shift around her toys in search of something.  Watching her brought back memories of my frantic searching for a bill or receipt that I had mislaid.  One of the moments when you put something away so only you and God knew where it was.  Then it ended up that only God knew.

I finally decided to put my ugly afghan and the yarn I’m using in it in my big basket.

I then placed it in the corner beside the Lazy Boy so it would be handy,

Well as of yesterday I have broken two of my resolutions.  # one and three have fallen by the wayside.

Monday I drove Jay to Dr. Webb’s office and we ended up at a hospital nearby where Jay was admitted as an outpatient to have his dialysis arm worked on.  We left the house at 9:30 that morning and never got back until after 8 pm.  A long tiresome day but at least the dialysis treatment worked better on Tuesday.

Yesterday was chores around the house trying to catch up on things that didn’t get done Monday.  My company and I decided that Thursday would be a better visiting day than yesterday so I’ll see them tomorrow.

Today Jay and I went to a medical equipment company for some parts for his Bi Pap machine.  While we were out we went to Sam’s Club, Bed, Bath, and Beyond, Gilroy’s Hardware, and Vg’s for groceries.  It was another long day for me.

Consequently I have not embroidered one stitch on my lap robe even though I’ve been saying for a week I would be picking it up,

Tomorrow morning it is a recheck on my foot and long awaited company in the afternoon.  Maybe Friday will be my pick up the needle and do something day.  Cold first with no snow then the last two days more snow than I wanted to see but Saturday should be in the forties with rain.  A weather alert in effect states don’t go out without a hat and gloves today.  I think we need one of those tents that the utility workers have but with a coal stove in it to go outside with.

Well it is past my bedtime so I’ll hit the tick!!!  Good night!!!!

I work at crocheting, knitting, making ornaments, and other projects. With my husband I can 300 or 400 half pints of jam, chutney, plus cabbage relish, pickled beets and cinnamon fruit every summer to give away. I was clown doing parades, parties, and picnics for about 15 years. My other passions are music from the 50s through the 70s, reading, and of course blogging!

  1. Oh, I so sympathize with little Brandy.  I can’t believe the amount of time I spend looking for misplaced items around the house.

I hope you find a little time for yourself today and a little time to relax.

  2. Of course you KNOW that embroidery will be ‘right there waiting for you’ when you DO decide to pick it up!? Fret not, my friend…rest a little and enjoy the rest; YOU deserve it!
    Hugs;
    Pammie
ps: Give Jay a few big hugs from me (for his hospital stay)…not too big, mind you; don’t want to hurt his dialysis port-thingie!

  3. Snow keeps coming on and off!  200 cars stranded yesterday evening down in county of Devon caused havoc on all the News.

Just finished watching my dvd of The Bridges of Madison County which came in the post today.  Now waiting to listen to some music from The Fifties at 9 pm our time on our local Radio Station.

Glad you got through all your medical bits and pieces once more.  I have to attend the dentist next Monday shan’t look forward to this as a broken smaller tooth infected the gum last weekend and I had to go to the Dr. to get Pennicllin to counteract thankfully this has worked.  Love to all Marion   England.
off to bed now to listen to the radio.

  4. Homespun yarn should not be called ugly.  It works up very well, and is warm as all heck.

Marion, _The Bridges of Madison County_ is one of my favorite reads.  I remember all the hoopla when the book first came out, and I have a first edition on my shelf.
As for the movie, it stays true to the original, but I think Clint Eastwood should have stayed in the director’s chair and let a younger, lesser known actor be the star.
Although I also own the vhs tape.  I sure hope the machine keeps working.
    We’re all becoming antiques.

  5. Sorry Diane a misunderstanding on the afghan name.  I’m not referring to the yarn but to the combination of colors used in the item.  In fact a new e-mail from Lion today shows some new lovely colors now available.  I do agree that homespun id one of the warmest yarns I’ve worked with.

Marion, I hope all goes well with the tooth fixing.

Maria,  I am busy but working for myself I can take a sit down every once in a while.

Pammie, Still haven’t pick up that needle yet!
