Almost 40 degrees outside with the sun shining and the wind moving the Sand Cherry, the Quince, and the Snowball bushes but barely fazing the tall trees in the yard. These pictures are from my walk with Brandy down to the mailbox and back up around the dome this morning.
First on our walk I spotted one of the bunnies out by the leg of the swing. It was eating and as usual didn’t run as long as I eased up closer and zoomed in. Both bunnies seemed to be getting a little more at ease around me now.
Checking on my rhubarb plants in the flower beds I found two of the three already making themselves known. At last I can supplement some of the ingredients In my strawberry and blueberry jam without leaving my yard.
Another blossom has introduced itself into the garden. The purple is so delicate that my imagination ran wild with thoughts of how would it taste? Luscious like the sweetest grape jam ever made. Or maybe to feel it would be like running your fingers over the velvet in a royal robe. It is almost like seeing your only daughter in her prom dress many years ago.
Walking around the dome to the garden below the bedroom window I can see the row of green shoots that will soon have buds that will burst into more colors to add to my rainbow on the ground.
Finally I crossed the deck at the back of my home to step down on the the path that I had laid down a couple of years back. It had settled into the ground making it very safe for Brandy and me to walk on. The look was what I had pictured when I placed them down originally.
So there you have my first day of April. I hope you enjoyed my little walk and now I have 12 more inches to complete the knitting part of my project so I’ll leave you for now. I even omitted the April Fools joke but the day isn’t over yet!!
Update:
A second trip to the mailbox found Brandy and me being blown down the driveway. Even though the temperature is 6 degrees warmer the wind has picked up and the clouds are racing across the sky. The trees are now swaying quite a bit and what started out pleasant seems to be getting colder by the minute. It looks like I don’t have to play an April Fools prank because Mother Natures is doing for me!
