It seems one of my Christmas cactus doesn’t know that we will be celebrating Easter soon. Not that I’m complaining because now if this continues I’ll have blossoms two time a year instead of all at once.
After a few days of teasing it seems Mother Nature is about to call for more snow. I was just starting to move the snow shovel and salt, for melting, off the porch. The tractor with the mower deck is in the garage and the snow plow is put away for the summer( oh joy). Obviously my cactus knows more than me about the weather.
Yesterday we visited one of the homes we hadn’t been to before. I had promised myself that I would get out and visit some of my friends and relatives at home rather than expecting them to come up here. Our drive yesterday was down close to the Ohio State line. We visited friends Darlene and Michael briefly to deliver my projects. Some delicious salad and pizza begged to be sampled so I did.
Darlene has a birthday on the 19th of this month so I thought we should visit before the second winter arrived.
My other project was the ugly afghan which I made for Michael. He seems to have trouble keeping warm when he is not feeling well and I wanted to give him something to help.
This friend, along with his wife, have gone out of their way to surprise us with great tasting meals when they visit. He is also a delight when cleanup times comes. I told Darlene I would adopt him if I were richer!
Well when Brandy and I walked down for the Sunday paper this morning one bunny was up next to the butterfly bush and the other down near the Quince bush. I will cut the Butterfly bush back today because I keep forgetting to do that.
On the agenda for today is to iron four shirts, fill the outside bird feeders. fold laundry, clean the bird cage grid, put away my project materials, water inside plants, and check the progrss on the outside ones.
Have a great day everyone—I’m going to.
I love the Christmas cactus!! My Shamrocks have been blooming since March 17th. A few blooms a week, but they give me hope and joy!! Ahh! Spring is just around the cormer. Sweet Easter.
Smart cactus, blooming in the Spring!
I keep telling you that the aphgan is not ugly, and the picture proves it.
And the blue shrug is looks nice.
Not to say that I would wear it, I’m real peculiar about my arm coverings.
Both are bound to be nice and warm, tho.
We have a cold rain coming down.
Poor Oscar is hiding under the stairs in the basement. He is so afraid of thunder.
More snow is about as welcomed as a hot stove in hell. Maybe it will be short-lived and will herald a beautiful Spring!
The afghan looks quite regal on Michael’s shoulders. You can tell by his expression that it will be a favorite and that he will think of you when he curls up in it to stay warm.
Very nice gifts and he looks absolutely thrilled!
Don’t work yourself to death. whatever don’t get done today can be done tomorrow.
