Will keep Jay in my thoughts and prayers and hope that he gets a good eye report.

A walk in your yard with all its natural beauty must be awesome. Bob googled cicada and it doesn’t quite look right, but then there are probably many varieties.

Just tried to look up your ‘bug’...I’d guess it’s a type of bee (note yellow, rather fuzzy apearing thorax and fuzzy back legs), although I couldn’t categorize it via photos on the ‘net).
Flowers are very pretty; right now the only blooming things here are lillies (white with rose colored petal edges).
I’ll drop Cin a ‘cheer you up’ email.
Hugs;

Lovely flowers! especially the rose. I love roses!

the bug looks like a cicada to me, and this would be around the time they begin coming out from their holes in the ground
here on the prairie, 4th of July picnics are serenaded by the cicadas

killing one is difficult, for they are hardy critters
one of the boys hit one with a hammer and it Still wobbled around awhile until he hit it again

We tried to raise our kids as peacemakers, but with insects, all rules are broken, which is why the ant poison is getting spread this evening.
