One Foot!

I finally got to pickup my hook this morning and work on the afghan.  I am now into color # four.

I watched Biography until Jay’s car programs came on then decided to bring up some supplies from the basement and possibly see if I had loaded my weed whacker correctly.  I had, so I tackled some overgrowth around the garage door area.

Some before and after pics of my work.

I worked until the sun got too warm for me and the trying to climb the side of the banks got to me.  I will give it another shot in a day or so.  Then when this area is cleaned up I have the whole main floor area around the the outside of the dome to clean up.  Damn I hate getting older because that turns a one day job into a major project!

Oh well one foot in front of the other is how things get accomplished!!

  1. We just bought a weed-whacker less than a month ago.  I got to do about 3 feet wide patch of weeds at the corner of the house, then son worked it for a few more feet.
    The kid we are paying to do yardwork is loving the toy.
    Too hot to do anything today.  Husband and I went out for sandwiches, then carried them for a picnic in the park.

    The blankie looks so nice in shades of blue.
    I have yarn and the box diagonal pattern all chosen, but the granny square aphgan for the wedding in September must get done first.

    Although today I have to take time off to crochet a bookmark for a sympathy card.
    One of my favorite teachers I work with has a sister’s name in the Obituaries this morning.

  2. Lovely afghan colors…great looking ‘after’ photos! We have several weed whackers around here, but none actually work (or at least, haven’t been used in many years!). Keep yourself cool, lady…it’s really hot out there!
    Hugs;

  3. “One foot in front of the other” reminds me of a saying of my father’s whch I do believe means the same thing.  He used to say “Hay foot, Straw foot”.  I may be wrong, but I think it means the same.

    Those hillsides are difficult for you.  Don’t do anything that will hurt your feet or knees, but I have to say, it is a big improvement.
