Yes the old goats were shorn on Thursday. A job long overdue as you can see.
It seems like I can get Brandy cut much easier than Jay and me. The beauty shop floor looked like a shearing barn when Shawn was done.
There is one thing about being 74 years old that I like. I can now put up pictures with all the cracks, crevices, white hair, bull dog growls, and squinty eyes and not worry about what others think. To have made it this far standing up is a feat in itself for me.
But now to answer as best I can the concerns a few of you have voiced the last couple of weeks.
The visit to Dr. Vance, a surgeon referred to me by my personal physician Dr. Hukill was not exactly what I was looking for. Dr. Vance said that the ultra sound of the gall bladder area showed either a polyp or what could be a gallstone. It was too early to tell. I also had a fatty tumor, that was irritated by my waist band, above the area that was checked and just below the ribs. He said this also could be causing discomfort. I was given the option of having surgery or waiting to see what a few months would tell. With my commitment to my hubby’s care I said that I would wait. I mulled over my decision that night and decided to call Dr. Hukill on Thursday for advice. I must admit thinking about losing two brothers in two years had a lot to do with it. That evening Dr. Hukill’s nurse call and said he advised me to have the surgery now.
So Friday while I waited at the hospital in Southfield for Dr. Webb to work on Jay’s arm I called Dr. Vance’s office to start the plans for my surgery. I was told I have to come back in to see Dr. Vance again to set up my surgery. That appointment will be on Wednesday August 12th because I have to be with Jay on the fifth for his eye surgery. So there you have it. Another appointment but nothing definite on when the surgery will be. Bare with my friends I’ll get this miss straightened out yet. Also thank you for your concerns.
If we’re talkin’ gall bladder removal surgery (AND, it’s done lapriscopicly)…that’s a walk in the park! Of all the many surgeries I’ve had done, believe me…I was expecting pain and got ‘discomfort’…the kind that’s helped by holding a giant ice bag against the incision area, for 1-2 days and some Tylenol. It sure surprised me, but hey…as surgeries go…that one was OK. Sure hoping that’s what they have planned for you: 3 little incisions, some discomfort and you’re done.
I’ll just keep prayin’ for ya!
Hoping for the best for you Mary! I’ll be praying for you also!
Ya’ll sure do look great!
My prayers and best wishes for you, Mary! The new “do” looks great. Both of you! Anyone at 74, who still “jams” is one tough ole broad! Keep it up!
I so agree with you about not fussing aout how I look in photos. It really frees a person up and it is amazing how little other people pay attention to our wrinkles or lack of such.
I think you were wise in talking it over with your regular phycian and I am glad you are going to follow his advice.
Thanks for the update.
Good Idea to follow up with your regular doctor, and get rid of the discomfort before it becomes a real big pain. Whatever it is, Im praying for a fast and easy recovery for you. The hair cuts look so cute on both of you. Ive been coloring my hair for so many years, and have decided to quit and let the gray take over now too. The white outnumbers the dark 10to 1. LOL!
my thoughts and prayers are with you all.
