Gonna Be Movin’ And Groovin’

After working next to this charming fellow for the past few weeks you would think the other fellow would stop warning me of the dark one’s location.

But no he just keeps on pointing with that all knowing look on his face. Oh well just one more day after today and the blue plastic container will come up and all my lovely scary creatures will disappear into the basement for another year.

I only have good bits and pieces today, so here goes.

A kindness that we were able to repay.  Jay was in the Honey Baked Ham store the other day looking for a small package of ham to use for a breakfast.  Now this is not the cheapest purchase you can make but sometimes you want something special for a change.  When he returned to the truck he asked if I had another dollar.  It seems the person behind the counter took a dollar out of her tip money so Jay could purchase the package of ham.  Of course he returned with the dollar and thank her for her thoughtfulness.  What a wonderful thing for this person to do.

I got a call this morning from the doctor’s office and when Charlotte announced herself I told her I’m not coming back in.  She just laughed and said I didn’t have to the test was negative.  That was good news to start the day.

Just like Mrs. Dof, in Normal, IL I also have a gray, rainy, depressing day going on right now.  But that is alright because I have to get out the coal shovel and the giant dustpan and do some cleaning today.  We expect some company on Sunday over to Monday and I really need to polish up the place a little.

Cindy and David were up on Wednesday to pick the chips for their Trick or Treaters so we had dinner and a pinochle game that was called early when Jay started having trouble seeing the cards.  We girls won by default!  Slip on over to Cindyisms and visit for a minute.  Eventually she will be back on line all the time.

Yesterday it was another visit to Dr. Ross and the report on his eye was good.  Jay’s drops have been cut some more so we only have one once a day and the other three times a day.

Last night marked the 10th year I have laid this old body down to rest in this dome.  Kinda makes you stop for a moment at how fast the years fly when you reach a certain age!

Well it is time to put the Moody Blues, Mark Knopfler,  Bob Seger, and Eric Clapton on the Bose and start movin’.  Talk to you later

  1. glad to hear the good news with the doctor.
I’m looking forward to staying home and watching the kids come to my house this year…it will be the first time i get to pass out candy smile

  2. Thanks for the Linky!  I estimate at least 30 gallons of water sopped up from the basement floor with towels, then poured down the laundry sink.
When Husband got home, he showed me an easier way to work with a squeegee and towels in the wringer.
I gotta keep that man close by, he’s real smart…

Snack chips for trick-or-treaters is a nice change from candy.

Good News from the doctor’s office is nice to hear.

Gonna go watch the end of HOUSE, MD.  Reruns don’t need too close attention in the middle part.

    ~~love and Huggs, Diane

  3. So glad to hear the great news for both you and that man with the ‘eyes’! (no, not that ghostie on the wall!) Wow, 10 years have passed that soon? Sure doesn’t seem like that! Like your choice of music ‘men’…especially Mark Knoffler!!! He’s ‘Da Bomb’; to quote the younger generation!
Go rest your whatevers; tomorrow will come soon enough!
    Hugs;
    Pammie

  4. Does this mean I can cancel the Bottle Brigade hotline I was setting up?  So glad the news was good for both of you.

So it is finally Halloween.  I am about to put the dogs in the bedroom in anticipation of our first early trick and treaters.

Speaking of recycling photos of Molly and the pumpkin on your blog.  I just went into the archives and dug out an old post of mine to recycle for Halloween.  Heck, I didn’t want to reinvent the wheel – so to speak – right now.
