Around The Corner!

Not really true but it's too cute not to hang up!

I have got to get rid of this darn plaque.  Why? Because!

Looking to the the left!

Looking to the right!

It has been coming down all morning.  I went down to the road and got the wheeled garbage can but the recycling hasn’t been picked up yet.  I keeping checking that and the mail (the flag is up) from the top on the driveway.

I made a trip down to the garage/basement for some canned fruit, meat, and homemade bean soup.  I searched my cookbooks for a way to cook the meat and make sure it was tender enough for Jay to chew but had no luck with finding a recipe that I had all the ingredients for.  But I have this excellent cook that I sleep with who will solve my problem  (hubby).

I did scan my copy of the snowman decoration, increasing it by 121% ( a guess) and it is almost the same size as the forms.  I have to find my carbon paper now so I can copy the design on the forms.  I’ll get it going soon.

I think the tractor will be out tomorrow to clear the driveway because Jay has dialysis today.  I haven’t even attempted to climb up on it yet so he will be at the wheel.

Edna dropped by last night to bring me some doughnuts from her son’s shop in Roscommon, Mi.  and to visit for a bit.  She is doing OK but still has trouble with a few paperwork things since her husband’s death.  Life is difficult when a lifetime partner is lost.  I know she and my sister-in-law Peggy are both coping but I wish there was something I could do to help.

Well it is still coming down but thankfully not near as bad as some parts of our nation.   Do take care with your duties and chores.  You know Spring is Just around the corner.  But that corner is miles down the road –darn it!

D Is For—

Darn (I cleaned that up) cold outside!

6 or 8 degrees on the old thermometer--Too cold to stand out there!!

Just another balmy day in good old Michigan.  I can say balmy because we aren’t wading snow that is ass hole deep to a big tall Indian.  ( Golly I do love that old Southern Expression.)

Where they love to be on these chilly days.

Dreaming in the warm sunshine–not to mention getting their vitamin D fix at the same time.

It is also for done

Socks hanging in a row!

Yep they are ready to go in the cardboard box for safe keeping until Christmas next year.

Doing the next set of decorations.

Going to do Snowmen!

I have to set up a pattern so my snowmen have their scarfs, eyes, buttons, and hats all in the same location when I start working with the beads and the sequins.  I can’t wait to get started.

Of course this Monday which means gather the trash, clean the bird cages, change the cat box, and add the recycling to the trip to the street.  I will be vacuuming and sweeping as I gather so it will be a bit of a chore.  Sometimes it seems like I just did all this yesterday!  Time sure does fly when you are having fun!

Speaking of time flying please visit Cindyisms to see what a difference 37 years makes!

Waiting For The Oatmeal!

Good Morning.   As the title says I’m waiting for my Peaches and Cream Oatmeal to set up.  A normal event when the day is a cereal day and the milk is low in the fridge.  I have about four slices of bread so toast is out also.  I would say a trip to the market is definitely in order today.

Yesterday it was a visit to Dr. Hukill’s office about the itchy breakout on my lower back.  I explained that I had the condition for at least two weeks –maybe a bit longer– thinking it would eventually go away.  He prescribed an ointment and said it was a dry skin condition that is common this time of year.  He assured me it wasn’t Shingles ( which I thought it might be) but possibly two different conditions that he couldn’t identify without tests which he didn’t  have but the ointment would treat either.   He commented on how I waited 14 days to see him when I was just there with Jay a few days ago.  I explained that was Jay’s appointment not mine to which he responded with a –(Yeah right look)—.

He also found out I was not on an every three month schedule to see him and remedied that situation quickly.  (Me and my big mouth).

While I waited at the doctor’s office I started Jeffery Deaver’s novel Roadside Crosses.   It promises to be another interesting read.

I’m afraid the Santa socks went begging for attention yesterday.  But I may do a bit on them this morning.

Do start this weekend with a safe, comfy, place to relax in because that is where  you will find me!

Another Day!

I Want To Be Molly!

There she lays on the chair so warm and comfy sleeping.  I wish I could do that.  Just find a spot that is warm and curl up for a nice nap.  But unlike kitties people have to contend with little aches and pains in their bodies.  We can’t find immediate relief or warmth when we want it.

But at least I’m in better shape than when I came home yesterday.  I’m a little late getting started in my day but that is because I have finished Last Night On Twisted River by John Irving and thoroughly enjoyed all 554 pages of  it.  I now face choosing the next book from the many I have yet to read.  But hey you can never have enough to read.

I managed to feed the outside birds when I took Brandy out just now.  Those little feathered friends can sure eat!

I will get back to my Santa stockings today for a while because my left arm and shoulder are not acting up right now.  Speaking of that I hope Diane’s hands are better today.  It is hard to have projects to do and your body won’t cooperate.

Well it is past lunch time so I had better grab a sandwich before I move on to anything else.

I will visit the blogs while I eat.

Twisted Day!

It started last night with one of those up every hour things that hit us all when there is an important appointment in the morning that you can’t be late for.  Up at seven am. bathe, a quick bite of cereal, feed the animals and uncover the birds.  The appointment is for 9:45 and the the hospital is just short of an hour away.

We arrived on time and Jay was whisk away to take his stress test.   I, on the other hand, faced a four hour wait.  During that time I took a large bite out of the Twisted River novel.

After I took Jay to Bob Evan’s for breakfast.  Back home I spent a few minutes getting  every one settled and then hit the tick myself.  When I awoke some couple of hours later I still wasn’t ready to make supper.   I fed the inside birds.  I sat and read some more of my novel because I didn’t feel like working in my puzzle book or on my Santa socks because my left arm and shoulder are acting up.

It is now 9:00 pm I have had a small piece of cake and coffee, fed Brandy–still don’t want to cook–and feel like the bed is the best place to untwist this day.  So I will read you all in the morning and wade through the E-mail.  Good night all.

Where Is Momma?

Things To Do!

Where is she indeed!  These activities, along with the regular domestics chores have kept me attentive and busy.  Except for the times that Brandy pulls me away from the table to sit with her on the sofa so I can rub her neck or take her outside you can find me at my desk or the dining room table.  I seem to spend hours at the computer reading blogs,  commenting, working in my puzzle book, reading my novel, and making my Santa stockings.   My meals get made, my dishes washed, clothes transferred from washer to dryer and then put away.  The pets get fed and the outside birds.   But the vacuum doesn’t not move from the closet, or the mop and the broom from behind the laundry room door.  I have no desire to go out in the cold and go visit anyone.   My trips to the store are ‘have to go’ not want to.

One done three to go!

The results are satisfying but the guilt takes some of the joy away.  I have got to get some of the chores around here done before I get back to my table.

This week I have to take Brandy to Dr. Buck’s  office, for her appointment that was due in January.   Jay’s stress test  is scheduled for this Wednesday at Genesys Hospital so I will be out and about.

It is eight degrees out with sunshine and bare spots in the yard.  I haven’t checked for any reports of snow arriving soon because frankly I don’t want to know.

I have made it through one week with three more to go before the big 75 arrives.  Damn I still can’t believe that I might just make it.  Although my dad lived to be 75 and my mom to 76.   So I guess  I have the genes to make it.

Stay warm, healthy, and happy my friend until next time we visit!
