The snapdragon end

The Cosmos End!

Still blooming and still lovely.

With strawberry season almost over Jay had our friend Edna take him over to Wolvertons for 10 quarts of berries on Monday. Between Jay and me we got them processed.

Don't need two feet to make jam!

Jay did the cooking and I filled the jars for processing.

26 half pints of strawberry and 16 half pints of strawberry/rhubarb.

We were worn out but by golly we did it.  I have 5 cups to process as berries in juice to do today then that project is finish.

I got through the e-mail but my butt says I have to read blogs tomorrow.   Take care everyone!!!!!

They are there when you need them!

Friday when Tracy , my rehab person, was here we discussed the pain I was having in my leg.  This lead to Tracy calling Dr Hukill office about it.   As she was leaving Wes and Deb came in to pick up the bedroom furniture I had promised them.  They had borrowed a friend’s truck and were loading it when the Doctor’s office called back wanting to see me right away.

Wes and Deb ended up taking to  the Dr. in my truck  and from there to an imaging office to check for blood clots.  Results were negative so Dr. Hukill called in a prescription for Furosemine and the children brought me home.

They left to go home them selves about three hours later than what they planned but reassured that it was all right.

Saturday when Cindy and David came up they picked up my prescription and I started taking it.

My Saturday helpers.

David took Jay grocery shopping while Cindy cleaned cages, the cat box, and a bit of vacuuming, changed the bed, did some of the washing and generally got me ready for another week of hobbling around.

The leg pain is still getting out of bed in the middle of the night.  I bathe it with cold compresses, take a pain pill, try to walk off some of the pain and go to the chair to put up my leg.  I know it will eventually get better but it is difficult to put up with now.

Take  care everyone and be careful.  I have to stand up now!

Read A Little, Swear A little!!!!

I did it

Yesterday morning I figured out how to clean the bird cages with a minimal amount of pain.   With that job completed I went on to the tasks I have figured out how to do.  The gathering of laundry, washing and drying of said, then transporting in a plastic bag back to the bedroom where I put it away.   Jay takes care of the meals and assists with things beyond my capabilities.  I can feed and water, Molly, Chips Tiki, and Spirit.   I can turn my chair from the table to the right angle for viewing TV.  Still having trouble getting up off the operator chair at my computer so I don’t often sit there.

Dear Friend Pammie called today and I sat on the edge of the bed and we exchanged thoughts for a while.  It was a welcome break –taking my mind off the pain from the swelling.

Daughter-in-law Debra will be up Friday to take the bedroom set we promised her and will bring up a few needed items at the same time.

Saturday Cindy and David will be back up to help us get organized for another week.

The swelling in my leg is slowly going down but the pain runs from the top of my foot to my hip joint and sometimes just touching it brings some breath catching reactions.  Oh well it will get better and when it does the daily routine might even become fun.  I have managed to read a little bit so that is an improvement.

Take care everyone and be careful!!!

No Maw—-

You walk on it not it on you!!!!

Sorry Picture is not clear when 3rd born is giggling too much!

Cindy and David were up yesterday and Cindy vacuumed, swept, cleaned the stove and generally played domestic goddess for me while David readjusted the height of the mail box and took Jay grocery shopping.

Jay had made an excellent pork roast for dinner and Cindy mashed the potatoes for it.   Add roasted brussels sprouts  and a delightful meal emerged.

David also took all the clean linens upstairs and moved three dining room chairs to to the loft making navigation of the living/dining room area a bit easier.

The appointment with Dr. Hemming’s office went well last Thursday morning.  The x rays showed a straight bone with a  bit of healing started.   I go back in four weeks to check my progress.  A big thank you to daughter-in-law Debra for struggling to get me in and out of the car on the the trip.

A half of bath has raised my spirits greatly this morning.  A half a bath you ask.  Yes when your good leg, head and part of your body is on the inside of the shower/tub and the other part is standing alone outside like a teenage girl with B O at the  Friday night dance it constitutes half a bath.

The day is starting out cool and pleasant but I’m sure that will change later on  today. my backside is signaling for relief so I will close with wish all them Fathers a happy one today!!!!

Sorry!

Standing at the keyboard don’t make it so I’m not up to this yet.

Maris, tell Kristin’s friend she has my good wishes because I know where she is at!!!!

The Force!!!!

Is it a virus? A plague? Maybe something in the water.

An unknown force has brought these women together yesterday with assorted bandages, canes, walkers, and scars.  I don’t know what cause it but we had a great time talking about it.  Three of Jay’s sisters, Kathleen, SEB mother-in-law and me!  When I have gain a bit more sitting ability and my sense of humor I will elaborate!!!

Arnold I’m not but I’ll be back!!!!!

Having trouble getting some pictures for you but that too will improve.   Sitting in the computer chair is still difficult so I won’t be on too long.   The morning is clear and sun shiny.   With Courtney’s help I have the blinds up and light all over the living room.  Please excuse the spellings the fingers are still kinda stuck together.  Hope every one is having a good day.  Butt is getting numb so I’m going to work on getting upright.  But I’ll be back.

I’m up again!!!!!!

It is 3:56 am and I’m standing in front   of my keyboard.  This is my third time up since I went to bed a bit before  11 pm.  I can’t sit down because I won’t be able to get back up from the computer chair.  I’m going to sit up in the “tip up” chair for a bit before I attempt going back to bed.  No pain just tired of laying.  Rest well every one.

Alive and Well

What a time was had by all.  I tried to make people (everyone  I came in contact with) laugh.  I told son, Wes, that everyone was so nice to me.  His reply was no wonder, I was bribing the whole damn hospital with jam.

Well my butt is getting numb  and my fingers are built too close to my hands so I’m out of here for a bit. Missed you guys.
