They’re Back!!!
It is one day after putting up the seed feeder and they are coming back. The beautiful Red Headed Woodpecker the size of a Blue Jay. A couple of Hairy Woodpeckers, the Sparrows, and of course the Chickadees are gathering again.
It means we begin again with our winter friends. I am so looking forward to their visits.

Night Before
It was the night before Halloween. Momma had placed the ceramic pumpkin and the haunted houses that blink in the window. Two glow-in-the-dark ghosts, the witch flag with the green face and the crystal ball hung over the three lighted jack-o-lanterns on the porch. It seemed like everything called, “Come and get me bogeyman.”
My brother’s costume for trick or treat hung in the closet, but I didn’t have one. No sir, you wouldn’t catch me outside after dark on Halloween!!
At bedtime as I went up to my room my brother passed me in the hall whispering, “Don’t forget to run when the tarantula comes to get you.” In my bedroom Momma kissed me good night, turned off the lamp and shut the door as I drifted off to sleep.
Suddenly I jerked awake, sitting up, trying to focus, the only sound was my ragged breathing! I finally saw the lamp, its white shade reflecting a spot of moonlight through the window. What was on the shade? It looked like a large bug climbing on the inside of the shade.
I can’t tell how many legs it has! I don’t know if it is moving! Is it the tarantula?
I have to turn on the lamp so I can see where it goes! I don’t want to put my hand in there! But I can’t risk finding it on my bed in the dark!
I reached slowly up the base of the lamp! Oh no, did it just move? I have no choice, taking a deep breath, I slowly moved my hand up the base to the switch. I feel a scream growing in my throat, but I stifle it. I can’t risk upsetting the bug.
At last I can feel the knob. Turning it light flooded the room. There is nothing inside the shade! Where did it go?
Looking up through the bottom I see the metal bars that shape and hold the shade. I see the harp and the finial that has an oblong base and a small ball-shaped top. I have found my bug. The angle of the moonlight and the shadows of the shade. Man, I almost wet the bed!!!!

Merribell Lives
Yes, Merribell the clown comes alive again this Sat. She has decided on the Red, White, and Blue outfit with her blue hat (with the blue fish fly on it), that matches her long, curly, blue hair. I know she will be radiant because she is going to perform at a special birthday party.
The celebrant is going to be Sixty and has never had a clown at her parties before, so it is time we change that!
We are going to make bubblegum in a dove pan, make water disappear, find Spot, but we ain’t going to juggle water because we spill too much!!!
This is a surprise party and boy will she and her flock of grandkids be surprised!!!

Verdict Is In!!
Yep, today we found out that I have Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (or Disorder). In plain English I smoked too much for too long. Even though I quit over a year ago it doesn’t make any difference. So if you offend easily stop reading now.
Otherwise throw that fucking cigarette, pack, or carton away now. I have seen too many oxygen tanks in little black carryalls these last few years not to know that eventually I may have one tucked under one tit just to be able to breathe. That sure as hell don’t sound the least bit sexy to me. And there ain’t a one of you that I want to see that happen to either. So I’ll read a little about it, but basically I’m going to dwell on the sweet, funny side of things instead.

WOW
Winter On Way? What the hell happened to the beautiful reds, oranges, and yellows? When I looked out the window yesterday they were shinning all through the woods. I watched the blue skies and the white clouds floating over them making my heart swell with the knowledge that fall is Mother Nature’s answer to why the seasons change.
Today I saw the bare branches stretching skyward, the new house going up behind us is visiable after being hidden in green all summer, and now the swing is stored under the deck.
All the lawn ornaments made their way to the shed and the birds have started visiting the deck looking for the seed feeder and the suet holders already.
A beaver took a shortcut across the backyard while going from the frog pond to the neighbor’s pond yesterday.
And we are still waiting for the natural gas line!!!!
Soon it will be snow filled with a lot of tracks that make you wonder what visits you at night!

Back To The Castle
It was back to the Castle Of Cleanliness today for a hydascan and a cat scan on the chest. All I know now is that I have a gall bladder and it isn’t blocked. Any thing else will come thru my Dr. in feed back so it is wait and see.
I finished one Granddaugter’s dresses to find that she can’t wear it in the parade because she can’t fit warm clothes underneath so I’m going to see about ripping it out and adding a couple of inches to the bodice. The boy’s outfit is ok and hemming will finish it off.
We see the sleep Dr. on Thursday then we can get sewing again. Three medical appointments in three days! WOW what a social life The Golden Years do Suck!!!

A Little Of This & That
Back to the Doctor’s last Friday-- Test for Gall Bladder ( Gall Bladder sounds like you should fart and give someone the raspberries at the same time). Just saying it makes me grimace like tasting cod liver oil. Anyway that test and another Cat Scan for the chest are scheduled for Wednesday morning. Then maybe me and the Dr. won’t be going steady for a while!!
I have the grandson’s costume for the Christmas parade ready for fitting and hemming. The granddaughter’s costume grew to two over the weekend and both are cut out but sewing starts after supper.
Sweet things’ hubby was up Friday to do some stuff for us and we had teriyaki salmon from supper .
Saturday The Evil One and the Little Snit spent the evening with us so there was no lonesome time this week end..
Well I got to go sew --See yah!!!! Oh yeah I’m down another pound !

Not Bored
O K lastest game on Free Cell is 16732 , on page 650 in the last Harry Potter book, and cleaned a work area in the basement to fix the dollhouse that suffered badly from a couple major moves.
Things I need to do is mop the kitchen, clean the bird’ cages, vacumn, and sort the “I don’t wear anymore” clothes to be given away. But shit that ain’t no fun !!!!!
Also I could sart the clown costumes for the Lake Orion Lighted Parade that have to be completed bu the first week in Dec. Oh well I’m not bored!!!

I’M THE EVIL ONE
Forgive me but I feel my hair receeding, my gotee growing, and my urge to rant expanding my ample breast--Ooops now it is a chest --- I am now truly the Evil One. Let the rants begin.
Subject concerns in home care of elderly and disabled adults
10/6/03 Flint Journal dateline Det. Headline: Concerns mount over plan to cut Adult Home Help funding. The article say the DCH says the cuts would save $17 million by reducing the number of hours and wages the state pays for people who can’t care for themselves. If these people need help only with things such as meal preparation, taking medication, shopping, laundry and housework then cut the money is their cure. Right, but elderly or disabled adults tend to forget to eat, can’t obtain and transport goceries, sometimes sleeping in a dirty bed-in dirty clothes takes less energy, and take medications if I can’t remember to eat I sure am not going to remember my medications.
So here we have unwashed people dying from malnutrition and lack of medication in dirty surrounding but we saved $17 mill.
Skip the “out of country aid, the hush money, the rebuilding countries” --that will kick us in the teeth in a couple of years, Uncle Sam. Spend the money here. It makes for better care, more jobs for the able-body people, and rebuilding your image in your OWN people eyes.
