Go For A RIde!!

When we had a dog the magic words were “GO FOR A RIDE.” It was a few minutes of sheer excitement when those words were spoken.  Well today after four days of being stuck in the house I WENT FOR A RIDE!!

I drove to Lapeer (roughly 25 miles away) to the pet store for bird seed, Walmart, Meijer’s, and back to the hometown grocery store.  Yes friends there is now a grocery store in our little town.  It opened today!!  Am I happy?  Bet your life. Grocery stores are 17 miles one way, 20 another, and 10 another so having one 3 miles away again is like improving my quality of life 80%.

The other highlight of my day came when the Doctor’s office called this morning to report no noticeable change in the COPD on the scan.  So I guess that’s good!

Enough Already!!!

Tuesday morning a call from the eye doctor’s office.  Check outside, do you want to reschedule?  One look and obviously I did.  Wednesday morning more snow—where is the driveway that Sweet Thing’s husband plowed last Thursday?  Call the counselor and reschedule for next week.  I tried four wheel drive to go to the road.
Fine going down and a bitch coming back up.  So if I can’t get the tractor out tomorrow I’ll need to call the physical therapist because she won’t be able to get in.  No big deal, but it will back everyone up into next week.

So here I sit saying enough already! I know there is snow in winter, but this isn’t Alaska and I ain’t no husky so lighten up!!!

Follow up!

Back to the castle of clean for another scan today to see how the COPD is progressing or not progressing . We’ll know in a few days.  Jay “sees” the eye doctor tomorrow and that should be interesting.

Well I let him get away without doing his balance exercises tonight so I got to go and route his butt off the couch to do them right now!!

Keep warm, keep safe, and for heavens sakes keep smiling!!!

I’m Molly

I’m two years old, black as coal, quite a Halloween decoration.
Be it moth, spider, or ladybug they all are worth the chasing.

“Meow” means pay attention, put food in my dish, or open the door to the basement.
“Merp” means mind the covers I’m on the bed, watch where you step, and I’m laying a glove on the casement.

In the morning I lead her out to my dish, to fill with fresh water for me.
To the pantry for food and back to the dish before she can make her coffee.

After breakfast we play what she likes to call ‘Momma’s gonna get your belly.’
She grabs for me, I drop and roll on my back looking really quite silly.

It’s her reflex test and my exercise all wrapped up in one.
If she’s not quick she feels the pain, but for me it’s always fun.

A car in the driveway means run to the door ‘cause a visitor needs investigation.
Because there is no dog it becomes my job to protect the whole situation.

So there you have my busy life I’ll tell you they keep me going.
Their love and attention, care and concern is something they’re always showing.

Make Lemonade

The phrase was when life hands you lemons make lemonade and that is what we have set out to do.

At some point in life we all face the fact that things are not going to be the same ever again.  Jay and I are at that point now.

This week brought a physical therapist for help with balance and movement and a counselor to help with frustration and anxiety.  Jay is a man who read voraciously all his life and the failing eyesight has dictated adding these people to his life.

On the lighter side, we selected three talking books from the library and started his “reading” again.  Hopefully this will help occupy his time, along with the cooking shows on TV (you don’t have to see recipes), my reading the papers and magazines or just talking with him.

So we hope our lemonade will be sweet and we can move on to the next phase because that is what love and marriage is all about.

Monday Again

This is one of those days when your best intentions seem to fall by the wayside and you end up kicking yourself on account of it.

It was another doctor appointment today, but I read the Reader’s Digest to Jay as we waited and it didn’t seem as long.

We started the Sunday paper this morning because the Evil One and his family was up over the weekend and I got some PC tutoring.  We folded up to go to the appointment and after lunch we started reading again.  Sweet Thing called and the paper was abondoned again.

I read the three tests on the blog to Jay for something to do and gave him his results.  I posted on a couple of blogs and remembered I hadn’t visited with you!

By the way my Free Cell post was incorrect and after playing some more I’m now on game#18083.
I think I’ll visit a couple of the other blogs and then say Good Night

Which Neil Gaiman book am I?

Not that I’ve ever read any of his books, but I suppose I’ll have to now:

American Gods
You are American Gods! You are mysterious,
intelligent, and creative. To the rest of the
world you may seem a little standoffish, but
really youre just a quiet person. Youre sort of
bookish and are intrigued by mythology and
fairy tales. You might be Wiccan or Pagan,
either that or youre unreligious. You have a
sarcastic sense of humor and are the kind of
person people like to talk to because youre
such a good listener.
