The phrase was when life hands you lemons make lemonade and that is what we have set out to do.
At some point in life we all face the fact that things are not going to be the same ever again. Jay and I are at that point now.
This week brought a physical therapist for help with balance and movement and a counselor to help with frustration and anxiety. Jay is a man who read voraciously all his life and the failing eyesight has dictated adding these people to his life.
On the lighter side, we selected three talking books from the library and started his “reading” again. Hopefully this will help occupy his time, along with the cooking shows on TV (you don’t have to see recipes), my reading the papers and magazines or just talking with him.
So we hope our lemonade will be sweet and we can move on to the next phase because that is what love and marriage is all about.
