Rori, my advice might not fit every circumstance, but here goes.
Everyone is worth a smile or a word. It doesn’t cost you anything, but a little time. Over the years this habit has reaped a reward of respect and remembrance from unexpected places.
People need an extended hand. Not for wealth, but to show you care, you are there, and they count in this life to someone.
I have looked in a mirror and sure I’ve seen changes, but I don’t look bad for an old broad. Remember those lines should be from laughter not pain and sadness.
My sweet husband said that the brown spots that age brings along are just the sugar on the banana of life. I see them as badges of achievements.
Never forget that if your heart reaches out to someone, they are attainable. Sometimes not in passion but certainly in friendship and love.
An important step is your health. Do all you can to keep your body strong. I regret letting my ankles and knees go unattended. It is a source of frustration now.
And if you smoke for goodness sakes stop. We who smoked pronounced a sentence of breathing problems that can no longer be commuted.
Live like what you wanted to do should have been done yesterday and you will work to complete it. Regret nothing of what you have done because it has made you and will continue to make you a better, more understanding human being.
Love being loved and loving in return.
