Getting Ready
I sat in the swing this afternoon and watched three rabbits romp around the yard. They chased each other, jumped up in the air, and ran in big circles from the side of the hill, into the brush, down to the frog pond in the back, and back up the hill near the swing. Then they stretched out, on their tummies, in the grass to rest for a while. I tried several times to catch them with the camera but couldn’t get close enough and the sunshine made it hard to see the viewer.
An hour in that sunshine under the swing awning reading a book made for a relaxing time. Then a walk around the house to check on the flowers, the bushes, and the flowering trees for the blooms and buds.
I took the seed feeder down off the deck yesterday in preparation for installing the Oriole and Hummingbird feeders. They should show up in May. But the Doves, Red-winged Black Birds,Chickadees, and my Woodpeckers were here today looking for the feeder. I was at a Wild Bird shop last week and pick up a butterfly feeder and the nectar. Never tried to feed them but it is worth a try.
I drove to Walmarts today in search of a Curio cabinet that I found wasn’t on sale until Wednesday. I collect figurines of big cats and I thought the cabinet would be great to show them off yet still keep them dust free.
I had the Evil one help me get the gas grill up onto the deck last weekend and finally got it cleaned up for grilling shortly. I can’t wait for the ribs and potatoe salad. He also helped with the umbrella, table, and chairs. The two chairs and small table on the porch by the door we use as a front door were that dirty white plastic until yesterday when I used bright green Fusion paint on them. I need to practice my spraying because they look like what I called marblize and Jay said was thin and uneven. No amount of explaination could convince him I was being creative. Boy, give a guy his vision back and he becomes an art critic! Ain’t that great!!
