Holiday, Birthday, And Company
Sunday is the hubby’s birthday and we will be having the Eldest and his family up in the morning because they have a commitment that afternoon. The evil One and his family will be up in the afternoon because they have a commitment in the morning. Sweet Thing and David may be up on Monday if she doesn’t work.
I plan hamburgers on the grill, slaw, and german chocolate cake for Sunday. Lasagna(homemade) for Monday with the rest of the cake and ice cream.
Jay will be 63 so I got an ‘over the hill’ candle that plays Happy Birthday. He wanted a new air hose on a metal reel and the fittings for it so I picked that up for him as my gift.
The picture showing the new grey hairs will have to wait because I don’t know how to add pictures to EE yet.
Have a safe and wonderful holiday weekend everyone! Take a moment to remember what Memorial Day stands for.

Today Was The Day!
I did it today. I jumped on that John Deere and mowed everwhere there was no standing water. Well almost because I buried the tractor in the mud down by the road. It took the Hubby, a rope, and Chevy truck to get it out. But after that temporary set back I was on my way. It looks a little rugged in the low areas but basically 90% better than it did.
We went out this week, bought a battery operated grass shears and an electric weed wacker because I couldn’t start the gas powered one. So if the water goes down a little I’m all set to attack the wilds.
Tomorrow we have haircuts and Jay has an eye appointment. The next three days call for rain so it looks like June before I can get back to the yard. But at least it is better than it was!

Not A Tech
Can you believe it? I have been posting for about 3 or 4 days on EE downstairs on the computer so when I came upstairs I had nothing to tell me where to log on at. I e-mailed the Evil One and he fixed me up. Now I have two places to log on and don’t know which one to use.
I’m not going to sweat this tonight because I can tell by how he let me go he is knee deep in a real problem.
Man I am so not technical!!

All Dressed Up And No Place To Go!
The telephone rang at 9:20 pm. The machine decided to take a rest and the technican had been called to come in and ‘wake it up’. I explained that it would take me about an hour to get in so call me by 9:45 pm and if he hadn’t arrived I would reschedule.
So I got the bath, dress, and was ready to go by 9:45. At 9:55 I called them and said I wouldn’t be in --to please reschedule. The tech had not arrived yet so that was the best solution.
The story of my life --All Dressed Up And No Place To GO!
A Long Day
It is one of those days where you can’t take on a long project because you have an appointment. I am scheduled for a diagnostic at 10:45 pm so I slept late this morning. It is a 58 mile round trip because I live in the country. I have no idea how long it will take but I’m allowing an hour each way because it is raining and road construction is all over the place.
Today I clean bird cages, took the recycling and garbage down to the road, and played Free Cell between fixing lunch and dinner. I’m now on game #21140 with eight games to try and pick up. It was such a no nothing day. One exception was I read a little of the Michigan Blogs that the Evil One has linked to his board. I’m going to have to spend some more time over there.
Well it is bath time and I sure would like to say bedtime too but I’m a nut for the unusual and 10:45 pm appointments are extremely unusual for me.
Have a good night !

KABOOM
What the hell was that? (bolt upright in bed) Oh great more rain on incoming. (lay back down) Too late to sing the song this morning. KABOOM! well that seemed close (open eyes, squint at clock). No man I ain’t getting up. KABOOM! Okay, okay I’m getting up--Jeez!
All of a sudden the brain engages. What was that old tale about how to measure how close the lightening strike is? Something about counting from the flash to the rumble. But what do you say when you count? One thousand, two thousand or some thing like that. Take the number you count times feet? yards? miles? I don’t know. Help me out here! Somebody has to remember what to do. This is gonna bug me untill I hear from you.

And The Rains Came Again!!!!
Everyone has heard that song ‘Splish, Splash I Was Taking A Bath.’ Well I was taking mine in the middle of the Sam’s Club parking lot this afternoon. When coming out of the store the sky turned real dark, the tornado sirens started blaring, and the wind came up.
As I reached the truck the rain fell harder, my hair was plastered to my head, and I looked like I fell in the Flint River. I rushed to get the groceries into the truck before they floated out of the cart. Oh wonderful, another drive home in wet clothes and squishy shoes.
Well there be no mowing or branch burning today!! If you get lost in my driveway I promise to part the grass and show you the way to the main road if I can get the darn branches picked up first!!!

My Step Ins
Well Friends of mine it looks like my Step Ins have a great big EE on them! So this is the maiden voyage with the new Engine under my shaky control. I’ll try to keep us on the straight and narrow. I’ll avoid as many ice bergs as possible!! That is it from the S.S. Step in!
The Talking Tablecloth
Every once in awhile during the day we stop to check on Molly, our feline companion. We leave the light on in the stairway to the basement when we let her down there. That way if the light is on we know Molly is in the basement.
When she ventures outside occasionally we leave the outside door open in case she indicates she wants back in. We try to keep the bathroom, bedroom, and computer room doors on the second floor closed because we hate going up there to check in closets and under the bed when she turns up missing. Also the bedroom is where I store my clowning stuff and Molly loves pulling white gloves out of a box up there and hauling them downstairs like trophies.
There are times you can find her in the living room bay window or on the bedroom window ledge soaking up sunshine or a cool breeze. She will lay on the kitchen mats or in front of the French doors for quite awhile resting up for the midnight runs in the dome all night.
There have been times, however, when Molly has gone missing and no amount of calling will bring her out. So we check to see the light isn’t on in the stairway, the outside door is closed, and she hasn’t been closed in an upstairs room.
So we try to remember little known hiding spots like under the bed downstairs, behind the lazy boy chair, and under one of those ($5) lamp tables with the long cloths on them. No luck in that search. Then we remember the same type of table on the loft/landing. Up the stairs we crawl, over to the table, lift the cloth, and aha! Two green eyes peer out at us.
Now when we have a feline missing alert we just go upstairs to the little table grab a bunch of cloth and we hear a little EEEOWW. Which means Molly has been found because the table cloth said so.
