Wow what a two days that was. Sunday morning the Wes and lovely wife Deb showed up with ice cream, chocolate cake and gifts for Jay. Also I got a large bunch (actually two) of flowers. They left about 1:00pm because the kids were going to be home from their activities.
In the afternoon the Evil One, his lovely wife Anne, and beautiful daughter Courtney came to spend the night and part of Monday with us. Sunday was hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill, potatoe salad, ice cream and cake. A couple of movies, ‘Big Fish’ and the latest ‘Peter Pan,’ were the entertainment.
Monday morning brought Sweet Thing and David up in time for our breakfast of french toast sticks (Schwanns style) and sausage links. Cindy brought Balderdash and Remote Possibilities to play. Dave, Courtney, Cindy, Anne, and I played the games until just before lunch. Les and Jay were upstairs on the computer.
Around 2:30pm Les and family had another appointment and left for that. Leaving the remaining four of us with a large pan of lasagna, ice cream, and a German chocolate cake to dig into. We played pinochle (girls, and I use that term loosely, against the guys) and the girls won. I could attribute it to excellent playing and extra lucky cards, but actually it was probably just Jay getting one year older and Dave not getting any sleep the night before. But anyway I say, Hail to the Victors!!!!
