Molly Meets The Door Stop!
For a while now I have been searching for a door stop for the french door in the dinning room. Up until now I have used a chair to prop it open. But today while out buying the saw blades I saw this bunny at ACO. He was fairly heavy and not very expensive so I bought him.
Upon arriving home I placed him in front of the door. The results was this picture. A very cautious cat investigating a strange animal in her home. Evidentually Molly decided she could share the doorway with the new stranger.
The Wood Pile
Yesterday it was off to the awsome woodpile. It is an unsightly pile of branches, vines, and sticks that grew from the storms breaking limbs off, cutting branches that hung to low or intruded into the growth of other trees, and David just getting pissed off when trying to cut down a dead apple tree. When the saw started to fail David got angry and ripped the tree out of the ground.
I tried to burn some yesterday but I didn’t have enough larger pieces ready to keep the fire going. My big chain saw is too much for Jay or I to handle and my little chainsaw is loaned out, so I was using a reciprocating saw to cut thicker branches and loppers to cut smaller ones. Anyway the blade on my saw broke which meant I had to work with the loppers. My fire went out and my zest for accomplishment faltered. So I gave up for the day.
I think I’m going to go buy some more saw blades and when I get back I am going to pull the shredder out of the shed for the small stuff and cut up the larger stuff for burning.
Ain’t nothing like a 69 year old lumber jack for displaying tenacity!!

Catch You Later
The doctor’s appointment was early this morning so this afternoon I finished the last two flower beds. My knees are burning a little, I got more sun on my face, and something bit me on the left ankle, but I think a good hot shower will cure most of my ills. Tomorrow, if it doesn’t rain, we start burning the branches and leaves that have been gathered by the shed. Then that will wind up the outside until mowing time again.
My next project is mopping the kitchen, bathroom, and utility room floors. Which means washing the mats and rugs for the respective rooms and hanging them outside to protect the rubberized backs by not drying them in the dryer. All very important shit to write about--right?
I spoke with my daughter this afternoon about her consultation with her doctor about her problem. She seems quite ready to tackle the procedure if insurance will allow it. Knowing the pain and discomfort she has suffered I hope it is a go.
Jay’s cataract surgery is scheduled for 8/4/04. An outpatient procedure so I’ll get to haul him home that afternoon. This will further improve the sight in his good eye. All kinds of stuff happening around here.
Well I guess that is the latest from the “Land of Blinkin’ and me, Nod” So I’ll catch you on the flip-flop!!!

No Reason To Worry
In the last few days my family has expressed the fact that they were sorry they forgot my wedding anniversary. That 30 years is a long time and that it should have been remembered. But even I forgot until half way through the day so it sure didn’t bother me that others also forgot. But this was a good excuse to show you this memory from the 25th anniversary. The cake was made by Wes’ wife Deb and Cindy. The evening was a complete surprise with relatives, friends, neighbors, and co-workers from several years back attending. My children were responsible for the celebration and the gentleman that had married us 25 years before came to preside over the renewal of our vows. My youngest brother and his wife, who stood up with us, came from Florida to be there. This is a memory I will not forget for some of those that were with us that night have now passed on. With this kind of love and sharing I don’t need to have loved ones worry that they forgot one day.
A Debt Unsettled
Some 67 years ago this little girl sat on a scarred piano bench and had her picture taken. She had survived a fall from a second story porch onto a cement platform after a dog had jumped on her and caused the fall. A broken leg and a fractured skull were the results of the accident. The family Doctor said she wouldn’t last the night and he left to go home. But she did survive and the little girl’s daddy said that he would never pay that doctor because he walked away. Both the daddy and the doctor are dead now and the debt was never settled, but those are the things that life is made of. The miracle of a daddy’s faith and a daughter’s will to live that was forgotten until this picture fell out of that same cardboard box in the closet!!
What a life has followed the day that picture was taken. The happiness, the tears, the love, and the fears. I wouldn’t trade them for the world.

My Fish
Hanging on the kitchen porch is this giant fish! It was created by Jazz for me. She drew the details, painted it, and added the fins. Now it swims in the air on my porch!!
Thanks Jazz I love it!
Monday it is back to the seven little flower gardens between the extentions because the weeds are peeking up again. But this time I have the tractor and garden trailer to haul the weeds away. No lugging bushel baskets to the truck this time,
Tuesday and Wednesday are set up for Dr. Ross and Dr. Rohr respectively. So if doesn’t rain, it isn’t windy, and my knees hold up I can finish the weeding and start to burn the brush and branches we’ve hauled to the shed area. Wish me luck!
Update: Five out of seven flower bed are clean. Two to go come Thursday !!
The Costumes
This is an answer to deadscot’s request for a look at the costume I have. I created every one of these costumes for the Christmas parade in Lake Orion, MI primarily. Some started out as is and others I have resized to fit. I’m not a seamstress so I don’t do this professionally. I have a red, white, and blue, an orange, yellow, striped vest and pants outfit and a striped dress outfit, among others. My hats are full size, wide brimmed, spray painted or doll sized with beads, bees, butterflies, birds and nests, or bells and sequins that I paint to match the outfits.
I made a renaissance gown for Jazz out of family room curtains and a shower curtain. Dakota’s costume was a wizard’s robe. I love to try and create these things because to buy them is out of the question when trying to dress so many. Hope you enjoyed this!

From My Dusty Archives
Rummaging through not exactly my archives, more like the cardboard in the closet, on the floor, in the spare bedroom I came across this startling discovery. I had forgotten I had this evidence of these two notorious members of the Jenkinsonsonline group in my possession. But here for your perusal are:
Yes, my friends The Evil One with hair!!
Also a very young Cindyism. Ah those were the days!!

Only Bunny In The Yard--Company Is Gone!
Well the truck is back as you can see and Molly has been looking for Jazz because she went home this morning. It was a great week together. We had fun and excitement! I never swept a floor, vacumn a carpet, or dusted a surface the whole time she was here and nobody died of dirty!!
When I looked out this afternoon all I could see was ‘Bunny’. I spoke to him and he looked at me. He must be getting used to me being in the yard with him, at least he doesn’t run when he sees me.
It is awfully quiet in the house now. I know we are going to miss the company. Maybe she will come up again for a couple of days.

Sitting in for Momma is Jazz
This week has been great!
Between the puzzle “bathing” and the steering wheel not working all in all it was fun. We put five puzzles put together, today
Grandma told me not to tell anyone, but they were already put together partially. But ssshhhhh!
What she don’t know won’t hurt her! Molly finally got used to me of course two days before I have to leave. As you can tell I mowed the lawn, put puzzles together, went to the beach, and tonight we went out to dinner, I forgot what it was called..............oh well!
I also tried new foods like: Yogurt blueberry pigs in a blanket and more.
I learned how to knit! And now I’m making a blanket for my baby cousin, Ava. >^.^<
I started to read "The Eyes Of A Dragon"
I have also been chasing after a bunny and I almost caught a snake!
There is an up side and a down side to tomorrow. The down side is I have to leave. The upside is I get to pick up my best friend Jamie at 5:00. She lives in Garden City so its going to be a drive.

P.S. Sorry about all the smileys but I love them
