Happy New Year!
Going out on New Year’s Eve was a big deal for many years but we stopped going some years ago! So now I guess the keyboard has taken the place of the barstool.
So we wish you a happy, prosperous, and healthy new year!
This past year has been filled with meeting new visitors, and learning about some of you. I’m looking forward to visiting with you in the coming year.
Happy New Year!
Goodbye Buck And Doe!
What happened Buck I opened my eyes, snow is gone, and I’m face down in the mud ?
Well Doe the snow must have melted over night.
But it’s 40 degrees or more out here. Where did winter go Buck?
I don’t know Doe I fell over too . The only thing that stayed upright was ‘that damn sled’. Do you think it’s some kind of sign?
Yea It’s a sign all right. Here comes the old lady with our cardboard boxes in her hands. Oh Buck she’s going to take off our heads, stuff them in our bodies, fold up our legs, and shove us in those boxes for a year.
That’s true Doe but look on the bright side a warm basement, no rain or snow, and most important no muddy grass or dirty kitchen floor to graze on! See you next year Doe!
Yes but I’ll miss you Buck!
It’s Happy Natal Day!
I typed this title and wondered if it didn’t sound off colored seeing it concerns my newly turned 43 year old son! Nah ain’t nothing to off colored for my Wes!!
So A Big 43rd Birthday to you! Say did I mention Wes is 43 today? I have to keep saying it because I am so damn jealous!!!

Yesterday!
Jay and I went to visit our boss from when we worked at Michigan Bell Telephone Co. She lives in Detroit so it was about a 200 mile round trip but worth every minute!
Mrs. Ford had been hospital for pneumonia but she was finally on the mend. We sat for a few hours remembering the people we used to work with and trying to identify some of the people in the pictures I had brought with me.
I didn’t realize how much I missed talking with her until we were visiting.
So here is to you Bernice you did alot to develop me those many years ago. Know you are thought of warmly.
I also met Bernice’s friend Mabel who so graciously came over to help her entertain us.
Thank you Mabel it was a pleasure meeting you. ( She bakes great rolls too).
A Sad Day
It is a sad day when you come across a gift left behind from Christmas Eve. Sadder still is when the hubby picked it out for his favorite “girls.” I’ll grant you he (the gift, not the hubby) is ugly. But he has a definite job (the gift, not the hubby).
So, come on girls. Fess up! Who left this poor thing on my computer desk?
An update: Sweet Thing came up today to pick up that ugly little thing that was left on my desk! Actually he is an egg separator. Yep you put the egg in the top of his head, tip him forward a little, and the white will come out his nose! He is available on Stupid.com!

I Missed Him!
He showed up again around Wes’ only this time the red, white, and blue were abandoned for red and green!
The Christmas Elf says,"Hi to all!”
Sigh! Time Sure Flys!
After a very happy Christmas Eve with children, children’s children, my brother and his significant other, Richard, my friend (and 3rd ‘son’) and of course hubby Jay yesterday was settle down day.
On Christmas Day when others visit with inlaws or watch their kids plow through the wrapping paper Jay and I spend the afternoon with his Aunt Trudy!
Trudy has invited us over for the last five years (since we moved up here from Orion, Mi.) We missed just last year because Richard went into the hospital. Before that we sat at home pretty much alone on Christmas Day. Trudy invites Jay’s counsin Pat, her husband Gene, and their son Patrick also. So some of us who would be alone Christmas Day help others to enjoy that day also.
A nice light dinner, great conversation, and back home before 7pm. The kind of slowing down day old folks need!
Today it is take the pickup, go down to the end of the driveway, and load up the luminaries (milk jugs) to put in the garage before it snows again and buries them. In a couple of days I’ll empty and sift the sand into a plastic bucket, run twine through the handles, hang them from the floor joists in the basement, and throw away what is left of the candles. Jay has already stated that we will save more jugs so we can set them along the road across the front of the property. Good thing we drink or cook with a gallon of milk a week. I can replace a few jug that are a little worse for wear and still increase the number!
So now it is New Years Eve coming up and my eldest will be 43. Time sure flys when you are having fun!!!!

I Do What I Can!
‘It ‘s lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you!’ This morning I was wishing I had a sleigh. We had to pick up the Honey-Baked ham for tomorrow and keep an appointment with Jay’s counselor in Flint. This is a 50 mile round trip. But visibility was measured in feet. The roads were snow covered and the ruts on the side tried to pull you into the ditch. My poor husband who has driven truck over half his life sat white knuckled the whole time. I realize that when you drove professionally it is hard to sit with your wife at the wheel and keep your mouth shut.
“How fast are you going?”
“25, Jay”
“Well I feel the rear end slip a little so it is too fast!”
“ The snow is all over the road, loose and deep in some spots. I’m going to slip a little”
“ Ok but when we end up in the ditch I’m going to be very upset!”
And I sit there and think--and I’m not?
But we made it home just fine. I even got the tractor out and cleared some of the snow in the driveway.. Understand now that I’m not as good as Jay is but hey I do what I can!!
So tomorrow afternoon it is the family feast and a few simple gifts. The grandkids are bringing their sled up because there is a little spot in the back yard that allows a little downhill fun. On Christmas day those who have inlaws in Michigan visit with them so that way both sides of the family see them.
Today was a nerve racking day for this old lady so it is chillin’ time until Christmas Eve day and then the fun begins!!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!

Whee! Santa Came Early To Me!
Yup, it’s true! I have in my posession an Atari Flashback! What you say is that? It is a retro-syle game console with two Atari 7800 tm-inspired joysticks plus 20 (count them ) 20 games . Oh that is old stuff you say. True but it is for an old person (me) to play!! I have bought games for others to play but never like this for me! So it is not just Free Cell for me anymore because I got my own game console!!!
