January 2nd!
How could I forget to mention that on January 2nd Sweet Thing and David came to visit. Now as is usual this involved getting out the old Kenmore sewing machine for a little ‘jeans renewal’. Even I had a pair to put a seam back in.
But the most important thing was Jay was seeing well enough to make out the questions on the TABOO game cards. After a few hesitant moments he was playing like a pro. It was a joy to watch! This is an indication that Dr. Ross may be able to do a laser treatment at the next appointment. One step closer to reading clearly! Thank you my children for taking the time.
He and David even put the driveway doorbell back in that day because the weather was rainy but not snowy or cold! When you are sitting at the breakfast table in a nightgown and there is a knock on the kitchen door the mind goes haywire! Shall I run get a robe first or see who is there and then get the robe? Of course seeing a winkled, disheveled creature lurching towards you in an old nightgown is the stuff heart attacks are made of and I don’t remember my CPR that well. But when the first four notes of Beethoven’s Fifth sound we can run to grab a robe before our doorway is darkened by a visitor thus saving the his/her life and EMS a frantic run to emergency! Boy getting old is so much fun ain’t it!
