Great Quotes By Great Ladies (Part Three)
The last part of Great Quotes now.
‘I’m not offended by all the dumb blonde jokes because I know I’m not dumb --And I’m not a blonde.’ -Dolly Parton-
Never having been a blonde I don’t know if they have more fun or are offended by the jokes.
‘If high heels were so wonderful men would still be wearing them’. -Sue Grafton-
I remember how high heels made me six feet tall. My feet remember how they turned my toes into a tangled mess. Now years later the only things that are comfotable resemble combat boots!
‘I’m not going to vacuum ‘til Sears makes one you can ride on.’ - Rosanne Barr-
What a novel idea especially if your vacuum is the size of mine. To get it up the stairs I need a block and tackle. I’ll admit the suction is excellent but if you can’t move it around the dust balls are safe for life.
‘When women are depressed they either eat or go shopping. Men invade another country’. - Elayne Boosler-
I would have much preferred a chubby, shopping bag swinging President over what I got!
‘Behind every successful man is a surprised woman.’ -Maryon Pearson-
Not if she paid attention!
‘In politics, if you want anything said, ask a man. If you want anything done, ask a woman’. -Margaret Thatcher-
After 70 years it has been my experience that this is true in many facets of life!
‘I have yet to hear a man ask for advice on how to combine marriage and a career.’ -Gloria Steinem-
That is because they concentrate on the career and let the woman learn the procedure.
‘Nobody can make you feel inferior without your permission.’ -Eleanor Roosevelt-
That may be true but folks today don’t give you time to refuse your permission before they jump all over you.
So these are quotes from great ladies but here is my ‘Quote’.
The freedoms that we have worked so hard for are slowly being eroded away by apathy, blind faith, and poor leadership. I’m sad for what is ahead for the children of tomorrow and glad I won’t be around to cry !
