We Will Be Back!
But tomorrow I will be! Yes at 3:00 am I will rise and help my ever-lovin’ get ready to go to the hospital. We have both been on pins and needles waiting for this. It is a chance to feel better and live longer for him. And as I told him I wasn’t living up here in the wilds of lower Michigan alone so he has to get better!! So say a little prayer or wish him good luck and we will be back loving, living, and laughing with you real soon!
Grandma’s First Entry!
From the composition book of Mabel Ribble, my grandmother, written in the year of 1901. As stated before I don’t know if she copied these or wrote them but I found them entertaining!
FALL FASHIONS
Said Mrs. Maple to her neighbor, “ Have you got a new fall gown? “
“Mr. Frost has lovely samples that he’s brought from Wintertown.”
“I thought I’d get a yellow with a woodbine sash of red.”
“Something bright for chilly weather and that’s stylish,” Jack Frost said.
It is funny how these things come into one’s posession and we put them away and forget . Then one day as you search for something else this little brown book falls out on the floor. At once you feel the wonder of a child long ago gathering thoughts to keep at her fingertips. How precious can this be?

That Is Until Next Time!
Deja vu. Yep about every few days! I walk past the coffee table, or I’m folding clean clothes and I spot this flash of blue pattern material and black trim. The old brain kickes into gear. I know that combination of colors from somewhere! Oh yeah it is Lesley’s bikini briefs. But what are Lesley’s briefs doing in my wash, or for that matter on my coffee table! Then reality hits !! This article is one of Jay’s new handkerchiefs! Okay I’m all right-- not losing it yet! That is until next time!!!

Getting Ready!
Spent today running around getting things under control before the “ever lovin” enters the hospital. We started the day seeing the personal physician to get a final OK for surgery. This waiting has been very hard on Jay.
Next it was over to the Secretary Of State’s to obtain a handicapped parking card. From there it was to Sam’s Club where I could feel the pocketbook suck in like a mouth full of lemons. I think I paid two stock boy’s wages for a week! Then it was over to Gordon Food Service for a measly $40 worth! On the way home it started snowing and the items in the back of the truck got a bit wet.
Next it was pull everything out and off the truck and store it in its proper place. When that was done we had to call the lung doctor to call in a prescription because his nurse corrected a prescription form and our mail order pharmacy called to say they wouldn’t process it. This is one of several medication that has to go with him to the hospital. When he gets out we will straighten that mess out!
I went to the small engine shop to pick up the repaired front tire for the tractor and got it back on. I messed it up plowing snow on Wednesday.
Finally it was off to town to return a library book and pick up the prescription. Back home and start supper.
Tomorrow it is get Jay’s hair cut and have the taxes done down where we used to live. Hopefully this will end the merry-go-round and we can get off for a couple of days. So I may not have a whole lot to say that is entertaining--but I’m sure you understand!

My Presents!
Wow! My own Domain Name!! Lets see Domain means ;
1. A field of action, thought, influence. OK that works!! So by a stretch of the definition that make me a Queen or at least a Duchess! Right? Thank you Les. Also for the lovely plaque. You And Anne know I have a weakness for big cats!
Wes and Debra had a beautiful new wreath made for over the pass through from the kitchen.
Hunting through an old file cabinet today I came across my Grandmother’s “Webster Composition” Note book. The entries are handwritten in pencil and some are dated in March and April of 1901. Now wheather she wrote these or copied them from some where I don’t know but I will be posting some of them shortly.

A Long Jouney!
They told me that the snowsuit was rose colored. I was too young to remember. The handsome young man holding me was my dad Clement Wesley Waggoner. The woman was my grandmother Mary Ellen Mable Ribble Waggoner. The older man was my great grandfather David Ribble. Just a little less than 70 years ago.
I was about four or five here. I remember my mom telling me that my hand was on my knee because I had fallen a few days earlier and we were trying to hide the scab! There are very few things I can remember from back then and the people that did know are all dead now!
But I was a pretty little snot then!
So tomorrow I will have reached the ripe (very ripe) old age of 70. It has been a long, trying, and exciting journey. I can honestly say it was worth it. My health is good and I'm comfortable. Not as pretty as I used to be but not butt ugly either!
I look at this family of mine, my friends, and the people I come in contact with and I appreciate them all. Thank you everyone for being there!

Momma’s Way And The Kids Who Love Her.
Granddaughter Jasmine announced the birthday party on Saturday by decorating her shirt. She is on her way to Washington D. C. on her school trip in a couple of weeks.
Daughter-in-law Anne sporting her new look after her ‘Locks for love’ donation. A fresh and vital presence!
Granddaughter Courtney and my son Les sit waiting with a patience born of dealing with old ladies and their ways!
Daughter-in-law Debra baked my cake and brought dinner up for us! I’m afraid she is going to spoil me! The grandson, Dakota, was playing old video game and I didn’t catch his picture.
Wes was demonstrating what Pan the piper( I guess that is what he played or was it a flute) would look like if he had used a row of birds and blew ---well let’s not go into that!!!
A small confession—Wes and Deb spirited me off before dinner to the Hotel in Otisville for a drink while Anne and Les stayed with Jay because he was having vision trouble again. I have lived near Otisville for over five years and never been in the hotel bar so it was kinda fun to relive what was a way of life roughly 45 or so years ago!. Two drinks there then to the Four Seasons for two more drinks. Then I was ready for my dinner and wondering if I could get out of the car. I was amazed at how different I am now and I tried to think when all this had changed!
But I was still able to blow out the candles without falling face first into the cake. Take notice of the spelling of Birthday on the cake it is a family joke. Over the years I have baked the kid’s birthday cakes and when I decorated them I always misspelled “brithday” . Now it seemed the kids were too polite to correct me or they thought that is how you spell it. Either way I have to laugh when they spell it Momma’s way for her cake!!!
The Trio!
Wow an early birthday celebration! On Friday the 18th I went to Pontiac to celebrate my 70th birthday with Marguerite and my daughter Cindy. Marguerite and I will both be 70 on the 22nd and I had promised that we would ‘do lunch’ as the high class ladies say!!!
Marguerite mentioned that we had known one another for 40 years. She had helped me raise Cindy as I worked full time. She looked over everyone while my first hubby was ill and at the time of his death she was there to help. So needless to say we go back a long time.
But this day was a happy day. Cindy said I only said the f-word five times and Marguerite only said her word three times so she was very proud of us!!
But you gotta look close at the trio--we may not be sauve and trim but we are comfortable with ourselves. Yes there may be room for improvement on the outside--but inside we know we are loved and that is what counts!!!

Six Minutes
I have six minutes to supper --so here we go!
Pat has her telephone back in service and Jay did it! See the old man still has it!
I now have the back and one side of the front of my sweater done!
My luncheon with Sweet Thing and the babysitter is this Friday and I sure am looking forward to it. We are celebrating, early, the two old farts turning 70 on the 22nd. And Sweet Thing is the reason we keep in touch! Over 32 years Margurite and I have known each other!!
Ohh the timer just sounded I have to go!
I forgot to tell you we left that beautiful Valetines cake at Pat and Gene’s house so we wouldn’t overdo!
Hope your holiday was good also!

Mid- Feb. Bits!
Good news for a change-- The lung doctor told the hubby that his breathing had improved 40% and is almost normal. His blood oxygen is now a 95%. So something seems to be working right!
Our cake was good but somewhat dense in texture. We have tried to figure out who can help us eat it. A call from Jay’s cousin in Yale, Mi. solved the problem.
Seems the telephone wiring that Jay installed some eight years ago is acting up at Pat’s house. So seeing we have no doctor appointment today we are off to see if he can find the trouble.
We had an interesting development this morning. we each have a sweatshirt that says Gingleville, Mi. on it. Jay came into the kitchen this morning to tell me I had his sweat shirt on because the one he was wearing was too tight. So I pulled my shirt off and switched with him. The one I put on was definitely too tight and I said so. A few moments later he came out of the bedroom with a third sweat shirt (exactly the same graphics).
This was the other large shirt so I have no idea where the smaller one came from. But if it is an offspring of the two bigger ones I’m moving my shirt to another closet!!!
