What a glorious morning --what a surprise.
The sunshine bright did greet my eyes.
My mood, it lightened--something I needed.
No gray clouds or worries to be heeded!
My cat, Molly. climbed up on the sill.
To bask in the sunshine and get her fill.
For she like I wanted winter to end.
We were tired of snow being our friend.
Red Wing Blackbirds now have arrived.
The tiny sprouts prove they have survived.
All these signs--how long will they stay?
Can’t really tell--but I’ll enjoy the day!

The words are from my grandmother’s journal dated 1901 and the pictures from me today!
Come out little leaves said the sunshine bright.
Let the leaves be seen…
.. in their coats of green.
Come out, little leaves, said the sunshine bright.
And end your long winter nIght.”
Come out, little flowers, says the soft spring rain.
Lift your faces fair…
.. to the fragrant air.
Come out, little flowers, says the soft spring rain.
“ Come out over hill and plain.”
Come back, little birds, is the children’s call.
The snow is gone…
.. and the spring comes on.
Come back, little birds, is the children’s call.
We welcome you one and all!
