The day ahead is going to be filled with excitement, confusion, and happiness. This is the morning of the Lake Orion Lighted Christmas Parade and theTranquillity III clowns are marching in it. I don’t walk with them anymore but my day is going to be busy. These are some pictures from two years ago.
The first step is make up on every shining face. Wes took over that job a few years back when my hands stopped being steady and quick enough to get six to 10 faces ready in a timely manner.
When we talk of dressing the troupe it involves getting the right costume on the right person and the lights pin in place so they are visible. Making sure that each person has a hat, a prop if needed, their mittens and they are ready to go.
As you can see it gets pretty crowded with this many people getting ready at the same time.
After some jostling and laughter it all comes together and with everyone’s help our clowns are ‘on the road again’.
It do make this Grandma proud to see family and their friends carry on something that if so near and dear to my heart.
