Two Gifts
After the accident on the way home last night all the thoughts of Christmas flew out the window. The truck is in the towing impound yard. We don’t know if it can be fixed or will be totaled. Today was spent calling insurance people, arranging for a loaner vehicle, and getting Jay’s medical test kit out of the truck and home to us. The towing company had drivers out since early morning so the dispatcher who answered the phone said that there was a mechanic at the yard and that he could get the kit but they had no one to bring it to us. She called a little later to tell us the kit was indeed in the back seat of the truck and the mechanic would take into the office for us.
I called Phyllis next door, the only neighbor that I know well enough to talk with. I asked if she could take me down to pick up the kit. She said she would be happy to help out and would go down after church and pick it up for me. So I called the dispatcher back to say my neighbor would be down after 12:30 pm to pick up the kit.
Later Phyllis showed up with Jay’s kit, one of my gloves, Jay’s hat, my coffee mug, and this beautiful poinsettia plant that she had bought for us as an early Christmas gift. Bless her heart I really needed something like this to get back on track today.
So I have received two gifts since yesterday. The first being that neither Jay or I was hurt in the accident and the second was the beautiful flowers.
2005 Christmas Parade Clown Prepartions
Lots of pictures! It was a house full of activity as our little troupe assembled for make up and and costumes. Wes on makeup and Momma on costumes and lights. A few last minute adjustments to relieve some tight spots here and there but otherwise it went quite well.
Wes and Dakota (son & grandson) Wes is wearing the same shirt two years later.
Kelly (one of the neighbor children), Jenna (Jasmine’s school friend), and Jasmine with their make up on!
Jenna and Jasmine in costume waiting for everyone to get ready.
Debra (my daughter-in-law) All dressed up and raring to go!
Dakota (grandson) When he got out on the street the dancer in him showed up!
Time for me to load the battery pack in Kelly’s costume for her lights.
Outside and ready to go..Jasmine, Jenna, Kelly, Pat ( Deb’s neighbor in back), and Dakota.
Then there is Debra and Dakota together. Mother and son ( can see the family resemblance?)
Greg (the Elf ) dropped by for a short visit at Wes’ house which always brings alot of laughter to all of us.
So there are some of our moments caught on a digital camera to share with you.
