Crochet with thread--I can’t do that. Big hooks and yarn had always been my preference. But a couple of years ago I found a pattern book for nativity set. It was so interesting that I had to at least try it but size 10 and size 3 hooks were a challenge to this lobster claw hands of mine. These are the three kings with assorted gold buttons for their gifts.
After completing the set I bought larger foam forms and attempted the same pattern in yarn with bigger hooks.
The results were satisfactory and I hope someday to replicate the of the set in yarn.
Yet to come are the shepherd with sheep, the cow, horse, and camel. The angels and Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. Some turned out fairly well and others were pretty pitiful. But that is how we learn new things.
