What Old Folks Do!
The Christmas Cactus that bloomed last year is now divided into five different plants, One went the Jeanie, my brother’s significant other. The second to Phyllis my next door neighbor. My daughter-in-law Deb got the third one and Cindy the forth one. Number five is still with me and as you can see is starting to bloom early.
Well the parade is over and I am waiting for pictures from it. I really missed not going down to help get them ready. Deb said that what started out as four clowns became six, then eight and if we had been able to furnish enough costumes there would have been ten clowns marching. So I guess some summer sewing is in order but I will have to make them loose so they can be passed on to some one else when they get too small. Makes me proud that something I started some years ago is growing each year. Wish the old feet and ankles would let me march too.
Jay’s arm is still acting up and it looks like a catheter will have to be put in until they can get a graft in his arm.
Last night we said the heck with worrying about every thing and we went out to the Senior Christmas Dinner put on by the Lions Club at the Township hall. Yep we sat and ate roast beef, pork, dressing and all the fixings with all the other old folks in the area. This is one time when it pays to be old! I met my neighbor’s mother and we sat with Joe and his wife. He picks up our tractor for repairs when it won’t run. My retired mail lady Edna was there as one of the hostesses. It was kinda nice to have to be on your best behavior and eat with the right fork fr a change!.
