Things I Know for Sure!
On the yard and plants.
The ants are doing their job. Both Peony bushes have large blossoms showing their pale pink faces. I took pictures of the Japanese Iris plant in the berm again now that several blossoms have developed. Also a couple of bright yellow flowers from Deb’s yard have made their debut. I don’t know the name of them but I’ll post a picture of them later this week.
The Green Gage Plum tree has leaf rollers on it and Jay is in touch with a local nursery about a fix for it. So far the peach is ok but we are watching it.
The lawn tractor got a flat tire on Thursday and in trying to fill it Jay found that the valve stem was incorrectly installed. He decided to get it finally corrected . Three hours later and $22. + we should have no more trouble. (The joys of being old and having to take it to someone to fix it. ) With a Friday appointment the yard has now attained a wild pasture look. When I get through here I’ll go out and mow because Jay is having trouble seeing where he has cut.
On to animals and people!
Brandy got a summer cut on Thursday also. I took a before picture but not an after yet.
Friday I took Jay down to Dr. Webb’s office because the some of the fingers on his arm used for dialysis were discolored. He now has a prescription and a special glove to wear.
That afternoon I got a call from Dr. Hukill’s office saying the results of the Doppler on my feet and legs was ok. One thing less to worry about. I’m waiting now for word on the blood test taken last Friday. My wonderful Colonoscopy is scheduled for June 11th. Wow never having had one I’m real excited about this. NOT!
My brother Gene is back in the hospital for a couple of days. The second time in two weeks.
But the good news is that my baby brother Dan and his wife Peggy are arriving a week from today from Florida. I have not seen them since my 25th wedding anniversary party almost eight years ago. They are flying in and will stay with us for a week or so. They plan to visit Peggy’s dad in Traverse City before returning here to fly home. Peggy said not to be shocked at how old they look but I think we will shock them more! Anyway we hope to get our kids and grandkids over to see them while they are here. With work schedules it won’t be all at once but that is ok too.
Oh I almost forgot the strawberries start coming in this week and my rhubarb is waiting so the jam making process has got to be started.
Take care everyone I hear the JOHN DEERE calling in the garage!
