Another Thought!
A few days ago I received this text from Pammie and sent it on. I had a thought occur to me today that it could be framed and hung where I would see it all the time. So I went to work in print shop and this is the result. Until I get a frame it is tacked on the wall at my right shoulder.
I don’t remember if I told you that Jay went back (out patient) to the hospital on June 7 th after a call from Davita the day before that the dialysis wasn’t working. He has had four sessions since then with good results but I still wait for the phone to ring when he is in treatment.
A Challenge!
Well the trip to the ear Dr. yesterday resulted in a good report I think! He said my ear canal was empty--not to mention my head. But I still couldn’t talk him into taking a couple of tucks around my eyes for old times sake. He said, “Mary must I remind you again that I’m an ear nose and throat Dr?” Life is full of technicalities!
Yesterday I went down to the road to get the mail and found my mailbox falling off the post. Now this is one of those plastic jobs with the mailbox on top and the paper box underneath. The post that supports it had split and the bolt came loose. Jay and I fix it temporarily but Saturday we will have to fix it correctly.
I’ll tell you I sure wish I’d had a camera out there and someone to take pictures because it sure was funny. Jay and I were both flat of our butts on the shoulder of the road trying to try to put the bolts into the front of the post through the plastic base. Picture a fat, old, white haired lady and her half blind hubby trying to fix a mailbox with car and trucks whizzing by. But sh** happens and you can’t call a son to drive 50 miles after he has worked all day to fix it for you. Such is life in a semi-rural setting.
If you read Jay’s blog you know we put up 42 half pints of strawberry and strawberry/rhubarb jam on Tuesday. Each year it is getting to be more of a routine for us. Next it will be tart cherry jam and Danish Cherry Sauce if we can find them. Then raspberry are on the docket. July is a month that promises harvest of several of the fruits we need so we have to stay alert.
Jay has an appointment with the Dr. that did his cataract procedure on Monday to correct a problem that has developed. Then he goes back to the Retinologist. Boy life in the ‘fast lane’ sure is a challenge ain’t it!!
