Belated Thank You Courtney!
With all that has happened I completely forgot to thank granddaughter Courtney for the candy dish she made us. She brought it out last Thursday when she and Les came to see us. Though the picture shows light blue the dish is actually aqua, even a blue green but the glaze reflects it lighter.
Knowing the work it takes to create pottery I’ll probably put it in the china cabinet for safe keeping.
I recall a couple of years ago the other granddaughter Jasmine made a bowl for me but it got broken before she could bring it to me.
This morning Brandy and I sat on the swing and watch the Hummingbird come up for a few sips of nectar before continuing it’s daily routine. I haven’t seen the lightening bugs in the evening for about three days now ---maybe they have moved on.
When Cindy and David were up for her Birthday Saturday we went over and picked up my Dad’s bedroom set from Gene’s house. He had asked me if I wanted it before. I’ll get a couple of pictures of it later. Keep in mind it is old with veneer problems and missing pieces of carved wood but it was my Dad’s.
After that trip David started mowing the yard for me but had to quit for supper. Jay had him take off the mower deck so he could get the blades sharpened because it was not cutting correctly. So my yard will be straggly a little longer where David didn’t get to mow until the blades are back on.
Tomorrow it is see my family doctor to discuss what we found out with my three tests and if there is anything besides lose some weight and eat high fiber to be done. Man I do hate shredded any kind of cereal, but if that is what it takes I’ll do it . I must repeat the saying on my pillow though--The Golden Years Suck!--
In mid August we start canning apricot and raspberry jam. I think the peaches and blueberries should be in there somewhere too. I’ll check with my resident expert on when fruits are ripe. I want to do Peach Melba which is peach and raspberries. Also more tomato jam with cinnamon. Of course I can’t forget the grape jelly. Sorry I have to stop a minute to wipe the slobber off my key board!!
Hope you had a wonderful weekend and are planning more for our summer time!
