Snow, Sun, And Shadows!
As is my habit in the winter when I see sun peeking through the blinds on the living room windows I raise them to get the full benefit of the light and warmth. This morning was just such a day. What greeted me were the shadows of the railing on the snow which was interesting to me. Let be known that I am an amateur when it comes to taking pictures. But I do know what pleases me and I try to capture it whenever possible.
I then went to the French doors to raise those blinds and got quite a surprise.
In the Red Maple at the turn of the back driveway sat a Broad-winged hawk. There were no birds at the feeder or in the bush so I knew it was some type of hawk. I grabbed my binoculars off the shelf by the computer and my ‘Birds Of Michigan’ field guide to identify this proud beautiful bird. My biggest regret is that my camera doesn’t have the zoom capacity to catch a better picture. I adjusted it as far as I could but it still lacked the capability needed for a good picture. I sat and watched my visitor for roughly a half hour and then it flew away when the neighbor came down her driveway.
Yesterday was haircut day in Clarkston and believe me I was ready. Jay and I both had appointments at 3 pm and all went well until we started back in home. As you probably know Jay was a truck driver for many years and he sometimes imparts his knowledge even when you don’t want it. This happened twice on the way home and of course I got pissed. What started out as a happy Valentines day trip turned sour real fast. I told him it take long for him to get back into his old habits once I started getting better. He grumbled a little and went silent. I however took a few miles more to release my snit! I guess that is what almost 34 years together does to a couple.
Well the sun is still shining, my rooms are bright, the floor is vacuumed, and my ankle is asking for the Air Cast so I think I’ll buckle it on and sit for a while.
Hope you Valentine got you something good yesterday. I’ll be lurking!!!!
