Not Our Day!

That is what Brandy and I said today after a trip to the Vet’s!  It started when I went to climb into the truck.  It was icy underfoot and as I step up with my hand on the steering wheel.  My foot slipped on the ice.  My other foot came off the running board and I found myself falling.  I knew that would never do with my ankle still swollen and the danger of breaking something.  Hanging on to the steering wheel I reached for the door pocket with the other hand.  I slowly released the wheel and eased my body down towards the ground.  The hand holding the door pocket allowed me to slow the fall and as I hit the ground it was not even jarring.  A wet butt was the result.  Next came getting back up.  Jay took the step stool out of the backseat of the truck for me and went to the house to get a chair.  I managed to get the stool off the ice and onto the gravel.  I put both hands on the stool and was able to gain enough leverage to push myself upright before Jay got the chair.  Jay then was able to get into the truck and move it over closer to the bare spot on the driveway and I got in.  That was my adventure.

Brandy’s luck changed at the Vet’s office.  She was scheduled for a dental exam and a heart worm test.  Three days ago I had felt a lump on top her head so I wanted Dr. to check that also, The lump moved and of course a little fear was growing in my mind.  The Dr. said we could have the lump biopsied if I would agree to having the top of her head shaved.  There was no option in my mind so off she went with the Dr. to the other room. There was more that one lump.  A few minutes later Dr. Buck was back with good news.  The lumps were zits that couldn’t come through the skin.  No biopsy just three stitches in the top of her head.  I almost cried.

The only one to who got away easy today was Mollie who only got a shot.

I sit here tonight hoping that we won’t have another day like this for a while.

Hope all is well with you.  I’ll be back!!!
