Needing A New Home!
If you were to walk up to my front door anytime within the last two weeks this is what would greet you. A small table with pots on top, underneath, and beside it. These pots have been waiting for the following.
Yes the Christmas Cacti that has been sitting in the bay window all winter has started to (what I call) sprout whiskers. These whiskers are actually roots looking for some dirt to grow in. It is now time to divide the plants and place them in individual pots. I don’t know why I have been dragging my feet on this project. I have found all kinds of excuses. It is too cold to work outside. I don’t want to mess up the utility room trying to work inside. Now it is raining. It is too windy to work out here today.
Actually the real reason is what do I do with them once I get them divided. I really don’t want eight or nine pots sitting in the bay window and I really don’t have any other windows to set them in except on the second floor. Putting them there would be signing their death warrant because I would forget to water them. I guess I’ll try to find some people in the neighborhood to give them to. They really do need a new home!
