Four Now Two

At 10pm last night the phone call came.
Life had ended for Clement E. Waggoner.
No more pain.
No more problems to contend with.

For his brother Daniel and I another empty spot in our hearts.
Rest well my brother the trials are over.

I post not to ask for comfort but to acknowledge his passing.  Life is done.

Where once there were four now there are two is all my heart will let my mind remember.
Life continues until it is our turn.

  1. I know you ask for no comfort, but oh how I wish comfort for you.  I wish I had magical words to help you through your grief, but I know too well, magical words for a time like this simply do not exist.  I will hold you in my thoughts today.

  3. I’ll see you one fine day
    Another place, another way
Hold me close deep in your heart
And in that way we’ll never part

Do the things we liked to do
If not for me than just for you
Look to joy, in all you see
Smile and let your heart be free

Strength’s not just in living or
    standing through the pain
It’s also in the letting go
    accepting life’s refrain

    Remember that I’ll be there
    for the things you do
    And always be
    a part of you

  5. My comfort came from knowing he didn’t hurt anymore!

But thank you both for your kind thoughts.

  9. I have never lost a member of my immediate family. I have no idea how I will deal with it, but I hope I can be as strong, and as graceful as you have been, Mary.

My thoughts are with you and your family.
