More Apples!

A bit of a late start on canning today so we were only able to do half of the half bushel of Early Gold apples this afternoon.

But we did come up with 10 1/2 pints of apple pie filling.

These are the last of the jars to go in the canner tonight.  But in the morning I will be peeling the rest of the apples to make Apple/Rhubarb Chutney while Jay is in dialysis.  My supper is extremely late tonight so I’ll close for now.  Remember to laugh out loud tomorrow your lungs need the exercise!!!

  1. (I like Paula’s first comment…it’s fitting!) Hope you have one of those new-fangled apple peelers that you crank…can’t imagine hand peeling all those little beauties! Great job, lady!!!

  2. Paula,  No it is just something I enjoy doing.

Yes Pammie, I do have one of those apple peelers and Jay urges me to use it but I think is wastes too much of the apple so I just peel each of those little beauties by hand.  Even though I get a cramp once in a while I have the satisfaction of getting the most out of my apples.

Caroline, You are welcome to visit us anytime and bring Mom too.
